So both of my gauge clusters came in the mail today. The ST205 GTFour gauges and the ST202 BEAMS gauges. I put the GTFour gauges in and the backlights wouldn't light up, but the indicators seemed to work fine (except for the battery light). I only turned the key on for a second and then off. I did the same thing with the BEAMS cluster and the backlights wouldn't light, only the indicators(no battery light also). After this I put my original gauges back in and there was a clicking every couple seconds, it was rythmic. Sounded like the click from when the car is shut off and the headlights stay on until the click when the door opens, but the headlights weren't shutting off when the click would happen this time. Then later when I turned turned off the headlights off to where the parking lights were just on the clicking stopped, and the clicking hasn't started back yet even with the lights back on. It was a weird issue, but everything seems normal still, there was just a clicking noise. I don't know what to think.

I've seen guys put the BEAMS or GTFour gauges in their car, what do I need to do to get these to work right? Is there a circuitry diagram for the BEAMS or GTFour and the regular Celica? I suppose it is possible all of the bulbs in both gauges have burned out..haha. I know one looked burnt when I unboxed the gauges but I didn't check them all.

Is it possible to run either of these gauges without a major rewire? Do I have to repin the connectors?

haha..I never unplugged it.

Process:
took off trim piece with the dimmer let it hang while still connected
removed the gauges halfway and unplugged the connectors
put in the ST205 gauges and plugged in the connectors
*realized no dash lights, turned off the key
took out the ST205 gauges
did the same process putting in the BEAMS gauges
*still no dash lights
did the same process for puttign back the stock gauges
*dash lights worked

The whole time I never unplugged the dimmer.

Well, that's weird.
Try changing the bulbs from your stock to one of the new gauges.

yeah. I was planning on that. I'm running LED bulbs though, and I will have to flip them over if they don't work.

Or you can swap the stock bulbs from the new to your original gauges, use it as a bench tester.

ah..yeah. Good point, it is known good. Testing the bulbs from the ST205/ST202 cluster to the ST204 cluster will rule out the bulbs.

haha..well it had at least one bulb since I only took out one fixture. But I did get both gauge clusters from the same seller. Maybe he swapped all the bulbs out for bad bulbs and kept the good ones. smile.gif

The clicking turned out to be the tripmeter. I think I bumped the reset button at a weird angel and it started clicking when it would try to turn.
