Hello all, I joined this group in the hopes of getting information, tips and what have you for my daughters 1995 Celica. She recently bought it and from outward appearances, it looks pretty good (have not seen up close and personal due to my current location). First major issue she has talked about is the headlights. I am looking on line for aftermarket, stock type headlights but according to her, the current one are kind of just wedged into the housing. Trying to find out if there are mounting points on the body or bumper that the headlights should mount to.
This will be one of a number of issues that I try to get help with. Personally I am a MOPAR man and am very handy regarding mechanical issues but with the new ride she has I am trying to get all the information I can to assist her when I get home. Thanks, B.K. Ellis |

Ellis Pretty much the only other headlight options besides OEM USDM headlights are JDM projector headlights or JDM halogen headlights. The halogens look mostly like the USDM headlights. The JDM Projector headlights are on the expensive side (depends on where and who you buy from, and shipping cost to get to you if applicable), and they also require rewiring or making a harness adapter for it to work. (more info on this can be found in the how to section) As for how it mounts, each light has 3 tabs with a hole in it which bolt into the frame/supporting metal pieces. You'll need to remove the front bumper to get the headlights off/inspect if the tabs are broken. |

Thanks for the info, not planning spending a ton of money on this car, just want to make sure it is safe for my daughter. Have been lurking on net for stock headlamp, pain in the butt to find. Going to hit rock auto up and what they have. The guy who owned this car was attempting to make it a "street racer" from what I could see on line, just need it to be able to get from point a to b with very little issues.
