So does everybody call clear taillights "altezzas" because they were on the Altezza first?

No, there is a difference between clear and altezza.
Altezza's are altezza, and clear are clear.

I believe it happened like Kleenex and facial tissues...etc...with clear and altezza being the "euro" or whatever you want to call them. Who knows exactly how it happened. Probally some marketing people thought of calling the civic "altezzas" because people would know them better then. But hey I'm throwing out some thoughts..

The Toyota Altezza was the first car to sport that trend. People call it altezza's becuz the style was originally from the Toyota Altezzas( Lexus IS300).

Currently there is only the IS300 in the US. There's no such thing as an IS400. Lexus uses the numbers behind the letters to identify displacement. TTE (which is Europe's TRD) did a engine swap and took a LS430 engine and put it in and IS and they called it a IS430 (not a production model). But there is no current V8 production model of the IS any where in the world. Trust me no current model of IS300 comes with the 2JZ-GTE engine or I would have gotten it. All IS300 in the US come with the 2JZ-GE engine. A few people have done the swap though but it's not as straight forward as people think it would be.

So are you sayin that there is no such thing as a IS400 or a IS430? Cause i could have sworn that my shrink owns a IS430 if i remember the model right. I know for sure is was a 430, but i don't remember the letters.
But i do know that it had like 19" rims on it and dual exhaust.

The IS300 does not have dual exhaust unless some one custom did it. You're probably thinking about a GS430 or a GS300, they both have dual exhaust. The only IS model in the US is the IS300. Sorry I'm not trying to be a jerk but I have an IS300 so I know there is no production 430 model of the IS.

I think you may be thinkin if the "SC430" it is also badged by toyota as a SOARER

Its got either a small block V8 (and is badged accordingly "V8" on the side), i think it is a 4.0 litre not a 4,3 as the name would suggets, and they also come with a 2JZ-GE with twin exhausts. Infact I think the V8 is badged as a SC430 LIMITED but cant be sure. Thats propbably what your 'Shrink' has with a 2JZ-GE and twin pipes. Nice car and a dime a dozen over in Aus - freakin everywhere.....

Actually, the new sc430 isn't a limited edition, its just the new sc model. The hard top is da sexiest of it.
