Normally you find out from whoever you buy the turbo from.

Yes, as long as you run no more than 7 psi, at that point the pressure gets so high when using an FMU that the injectors have trouble opening. And you should still get an MSD Boost Timing Master to retard the timing under boost.

you think this will work PN# EAR-981603ERL x2 on http://store.summitracing.com/ and the line?

or i should get ONE with a 90 or 45 degree bend.

Yeap you'll need two of those and two of these: EAR-600103ERL

And of course some stainless -3 AN line. You may want to use a 90 degree on the top of the turbo, depending on how your route everything...

Yes, but if you use larger injectors and the Greddy e-manage or the Perfect Power SMT6 then you don't since they both have timing control.

You'd have to measure them to see what length you need, but if the length is right then yeah, they would work.

It's on a case by case basis.

I buy the restrictor, but don't use it, and then I measure the oil pressure right at the turbo. If it's within reason then I go without it and if the turbo doesn't smoke, then I don't use it. If it smokes, then I install it. Either way I give it to the customer to keep so that if the turbo starts to leak oil down the road, they can put it in (if the oil pressure is the problem).

-Doc

thats exactly what everyone who turbos should do.
good call doc. smile.gif
also if you dont wanna hassle with all that feed line stuff,
just measure what length you need.
decide which ends you want,
and call atpturbo theyll custom make you a stainless braided -3an line for a good price.
mine is 20" total length, and it was 28$
i did make my own oil filter relocation lines, tho, and if thats the way you decide to go, its not really that hard at all to do, once you get the hang of it.

If it's a stainless braided -3 AN line, then it will be fine. They're made for high temp, high pressure applications.

if your making it yourself, you need to buy a preset amount, and cut it to length.
www.ATPTURBO.com can make the line for you if you dont wanna make it yourself.

sorry for to bring this thread back alive since nearly 1 yr.not sure what am i asking issit revelant to this topic.

dont majority of the 7afe shld have about the same reading of oil press? i do know weather temp play apart. What other factor could cause the oil press goes abnormal high?

i've my turbo replaced twice in yr 2006 alone and my mech was suspecting my oil press too high for turbo to handle. im using rhb52, 10-40w semi-syn oil.

it seems like everyone who turbos the 7a has the problem of overfeeding the turbo.
most everyone who does it now includes the restrictor inline with the feed line.

As im new in charging my 7AFE, so its common issue that most of them faced in turbocharging thier 7AFE?

I've had to rebuild my turbo every year and it's getting close to time to do it again. It smokes sometimes and always stinks of burnt oil.

jeeze guys, its a KNOW ISSUE that the 7afe has high oil pressure and you need a restrictor on the oil feed line. its just a brass piece that has a small hole in the middle of it, it stops too much oil from getting to the turbo.
