Wouldn't be that hard except finding the ports ot widen or the valves to change. Are you positive this would handle the power of say a 3S-GTE engine , if done on the auto tranny that comes with the 5SFE ? how much would a job like this cost ? Well you have to find clutch plates that fit and are heavier and info or a tranns guide to figure out the ports in the valve body of the trans to modify it. I don't know what it would cost but you could try talking to companies that make kits for the bigger popular trans and see what they say. I know the Chevy 700R4/ 4L60E are popular ones. Basicaly you can build an automatic that can handle the same power as a manual and it will be half the weight. This post has been edited by bindertch: May 22, 2007 - 7:11 AM |

fast , cheap, reliable.
pick any 2. there are no good swaps for the 6gc that retain the auto tranny. at least none that are worth it. like everyone else has already said. learn to drive stick. -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

Swap in a 4AGZE. its almost bolt up, boosted, and will work w/ your auto.
or turbo a 20V 4AGE, which is even better -------------------- QUOTE "And, as always, your friendship, help, and dedication to the advancement of Texas Celica dominance is GREATLY appreciated. This is a beams 3sge motor , its is not a V6 ! it is a 4 cylinder .... if you have an ST , it will be harder to fit a S series engine in it , generally look for A series for easier swaps ... there is a couple of swap posts on this website that can help you with understanding engines and swaps and stuff .....

if all you want is less than 200 hp, just turbo your 7a. its much easier and cheaper than a swap, and you keep your auto tranny.
