at least itdoesnt look like mine did it was orange with rust i guess everytime i payed to have it done they never really did it just topped it off with coolant the easyeasy thing ive found is remove the drainage plug from the bottom of your radiator. drain out everything u can. the flush it with a hose from the fill area. once the water runs clean put the stop back in and fill er up with just water and take a 10 to 15 min drive on the freeway or a country road to warm the motor up so the clean water can get in the motor. go home let the motor sit till its cooled down drain again and do it a few times depending on how bad it looks. then after your satsifyed put in as much coolant as your arena needs. and fill with water. the coolant depends on where u live i know do about 20-30 percent her in cali but it also never gets ne where near freezeing here some places ive heard u run closer to 80%. hope this helps

Not to thread hijack, but:
1) Do you need to remove plastic underbody to access the drain plug? 2) Just want to clarify that it is illegal to dump coolant because it is hazardous to the environment. -------------------- ![]() |

QUOTE(Komail @ Aug 22, 2007 - 4:35 PM) anyone got a writeup for this? and how much coolant is needed and such...my coolant is NASTY, watery... The DRAIN Tab is located on the bottom left of your Radiator. It looks like a small white plastic toilet flusher. You can do that or you can do it the quick ghetto way by unplugging the Bottom Hose from the Radiator and that will flush everything out like crazy. Then clip it back on so that you can poor in some WATER into the Radiator from the top. After your poored in the water, let the car run for about 30 seconds to rinse all the nasty crap out, then FLUSH it again! Then plug it back and it should only take 75% of a Coolant Bottle from Autozone to fill up the radiator. After you fill it up full from the radiator, run the car so the radiator fluid flows into the engine, and fill in more while your engine is on so that way you can fill it up Fully and bleed air at the same time. After your done filling, twist the Radiator Cap back on and engine your new cooled engine. This post has been edited by FortuneCookie: Aug 23, 2007 - 12:50 AM |
