holy crap, that is messed up.
Ok there is no real science. the drivers axle will require some technique to it. with a big prybar, push upwards and then with a mallet give a steady blow, there is a pin holding it siside the transmission. the passenger side needs 6 bolts removed. put the prybar between the dust shield and tranny, look for a little bump thats where it goes. Its about learning. That thing you rented wont help much tough. good luck.... i dont have pics atm. its hard, the first time i tried for six hours. then 1 hour. its just a pain. found this not a celi, but get the idea. ![]() -------------------- Learned a lot in 10 years... Its doable. I was in your shoes the first time. put the bar, push up steady and wham. go rest, tomorrow new day. are you on jacks. It helps it the car is raised a little high, you need all space you need. -------------------- Learned a lot in 10 years... OK so i bought a better pry bar, positioned it at the top, placed the old L shape tire iron on the bottom, one coordinated foot and hand move and BAM it shot straight at me!!!!!
![]() so i got the new axle in, put everything back together, and when i was tightening the axle nut on the hub something popped real loud!...should i be worried?? i dont see any visible dammage but when i turn all the way to the right and drive while turning it makes a scraping sound ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I don't know the first thing about this stuff but that real loud pop... could it be the axle popping out of its, uh, thingie? I wouldn't drive it at all until you get that figured out, so you don't risk any damage/further damage.

You should be fine. Most of the time I use a hammer and a crow bar to pop it out.
make sure you torque it correctly, too tight will crush bearings. -------------------- ![]() |
