so i just got my car out of the shop today witha full motor rebuild and the check engine light is already on there's 6 miles on the motor now and sometimes there's a strange scraping noise from 1500 rpm to 2k rpm really briefly any ideas?

even if we could tell you exactly whats wrong from through the internet, why would you fix it yourself? theres a warranty, if in doubt get it towed back to the shop $50-$80 is alot less than the cost of your rebuilt engine.

call the company. and TOW it back. If you drive it back knowing there is an issue and it goes boom...likely they won't be liable.

Its probably something very wrong or very insignificant. That's OBD-1 for you..But that noise your saying.. that's not a good sign at all..

took it over it was a knock sensor that was shorting out , the scraping was my timing belt, got it fixed all is well smile.gif
