So, I was checking my e-mail today and got an invite via autobytel for the Genesis Coupe Adrenlanie Tour. I was just wondering if anyone has gone to this, so I can get an idea of whats going to happen. I know its supposed to be about 1 1/2 hours driving a Genesis. Other than that I have no idea. Anyone?
BTW upcoming in Houston, DFW, Chicago, St. Loius, Phoenix, and LA. Maybe some wants to go? |

Ok, so I just got back from this thing. Long story short, it was alot of fun. It was a nice addition to a day off, and for once lately it wasnt waining and it wasnt over 100. Although the course was rather short (would of been nice to make two laps that counted as one), we got to make two laps in different trim levels, and also got to do a ride along with the proffessional drivers, I went for doughnuts while Zamora (my "guest") went for the hot lap/drift. Not a bad car, I love the fact that it is a RWD and we were driving the "track" package.
The V-6 is definatly the way to go if you are going to do this or buy one. The turbo just seemed to lack that "get up an go" that the v-6 provided. Also, if your taller than 6 foot, its a tight fit and you might rip your pants trying to get in....All in all, because it was close and free, its really worth it. Anyway, here are some pics...sorry about the quality, most of them have a blue tint to it. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I would think that the V6 would be more fun out of the box, but the turbo just has to have so much more potential...I mean, doesn't the same engine in the Evo make 291 horsepower? Just seems like it's really detuned from the factory.

I think with the proper tuning you can get more power than what the v6 puts out (306hp/manual) |

Probly, but the stock "track packages" we were driving, v6 was by far the best one.
