I have the 40 gig (meh) with only 2 USB ports, no backwards compatability or media card readers, and I'm happy. I'd love to throw in a bigger HDD, but other than that I really haven't missed PS2 games, and I don't use more than 2 USB ports.

I got the 80gig when they had the motostorm bundle and used software emulation and i STILL wish i wouldve gotten the 60gig for the hardware emulation instead. I like to have the BC cause sometimes when my buddies come over we get nostalgic and throw in a ps2 game or 2. the software BC sucks because it'll freeze once in a while and there are some that wont even play. all in all nto too bad for the amount of them that i play.

Once i can find a hdd for mine thats big enough to hold all my blurays and the ps3 can play .mkv files then I dont think anyone will pull me away from the tv

with Uncharted will I find myself enjoying the game like a movie (sorta like MGS4 did?) I still havent played it but this thread has gotten me interested. When GT5 comes out we all need to race in our virtual celis.

Does anybody else wish we could put the games on our HDD like the 360 does? I know some games (mgs4) put a bunch on at times and then remove or overwrite it later. I just think itd help some performance is all.

M.A.G..........................im still drooling over the thought of that game. I jsut hope it doesnt fall flat on its face

i have warhawk, calling all cars, marvel vs capcom 2, and some ps1 classis on my hdd. and yes... uncharted is probably as close as you'll get to controlling the protagonist in a major blockbuster film. the character animations and gameplay almost blend in seemlessly with the cutscenes. maybe even better than mgs4 cuz theres also less mind-boggling dialogue. its kinda like an action flick with some comedy thrown in, almost michael bay-esque with less stuff blowing up.

Got in the MAG private beta today!

15 codes were posted in this video: http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2009/09...not-sharing.ars

Just got word while making this post that the codes are used up, so i guess ill report in on it. Look elsewhere for codes out there though.

weird times for the beta however "They're good from 9/17 to 11/8, though reading some fine print indicates the beta is good from 5PM-8PM and 10PM-1AM Pacific only, for each of those days,"

I've been playing the Uncharted 2 Multiplayer demo. It's ok - not spectacular. The games can get pretty intense, but the killing & being killed seems pretty inconsistent. Always seems as though I'm easier to kill then everyone else.

I hate the uncharted multiplayer. They shouldn't have bothered.

Sure the sp will be good though.

I've applied for the MAG beta, hopefully will get in next week. Theres a 6GB download though :-O

Got need for speed shift this week, anyone else got it? It's awesome, pretty similar to Grid. Nothing like the old nfs games smile.gif

My MAG DL was under 3 Gigs IIRC. I also heard that NFS Shift was jsut soso gameplay with great graphics. Dirt 2 has been keeping me up at night lately smile.gif

Definitely Sonys time now, so many great exclusives, 360 seems to have nothing laugh.gif

Anyone else getting God of War collection? They've remastered GoW 1 and 2 in HD, releasing before Christmas smile.gif

If you still have the instructions that came with the PS3, there are instructions in there how to do it (take that X360!). If not, do a google search. but it's super easy, plug in a USB hard drive of equal or greater capacity (not the new HD) to the PS3, go into the system settings, go to backup and backup your PS3 to the external HD. When this is done, power down and unplug the PS3, on the bottom you'll see a little cover with a screw, take that out, remove the cover, pull the HD out, take the mounting bracket off, put it on the new one, then slide it back in and put the cover back on, plug in and go. i think you have to initialize the hard drive when you first turn the system on, after that, plug back in the same external you used for backup, then go to system->restore, and restore from the USB hard drive, and you should be set.

if i'm missing anything, somebody let her know.

i don't remember right off how to check and see how much you have left, it's in the system menu somewhere.

Probably because everyone's doing it at once.

I only have 9 gigs left on my HDD - I need to find a way to back my drive up or ghost it.
