the surewinproducts header is $75+shipping
the obx header is $250+shipping i have no idea what the difference is, but they will both sound ricey (well that's my opinion, but also a lot of other peoples' opinion) i would do catback with 2.25" custom piping, a 2.25" vibrant ultra quiet resonator and a 60mm apex'i ws2 universal muffler well that set up is kinda pricey, but would sound amazing. |

Just installed my surewin's tonight actually. With my cold air intake i cant tell TOO much of a sound difference, doesnt make it ricey at all. Can definitely tell its breathing better.
Edit: Im on stock exhaust too. This post has been edited by TinoCel: Oct 18, 2009 - 8:17 PM -------------------- ![]() |

I have the surewin header and have been pleased with it for now.
You asked about the OBX header... well so did I. I wasn't sure about the fitment of the one offered on E-bay so I went to a company to get it.... and they won't be getting it anytime soon. I paid for it... they never even let the payment go through because they knew they wouldn't have it. As for my surewin... performance wise there really isn't that much of a difference but as someone said before you can definitely hear the car breathing better. The hissing from my intake combined with the hiss from the header (especially on a chilly morning) perks me up and gets me ready for the day. lol. Not much beats the sound of cold, dense air rushing through the system.... unless of course its compressed ![]() |

I have a 94 ST with a 7A-FE and been looking for headers to fit. Every one I have found has eliminated the cat

As I said I don't think you can get the OBX headers. I asked about them maybe 5-6 months ago and they didn't even take my payment. Are you looking at getting them from a website or e-bay?

been looking mostly on ebay but im open to anything. will the ebay ones align right? and does anything special have to be done to the o2 sensor? No the e-bay ones are a perfect fit. Your 2 sensors right now (O2 and heat) are fairly distant from one another.... the header will bring them closer together which you'll need to unplug both sensors to get done. Other than that its a direct fit job. You'll need to loosen your alternator a bit so you can get a wrench on the bolt there and you might need an extra hand to get the header attached to the flex pipe, but other than that its a one man job that shouldn't take more than 30 minutes. (mine took a lot longer because the O2 sensor hadn't moved since it was put on by the factory and was practically welded to the stock manifold). |

most all the 7afe headers+mid pipes i see on ebay only have one O2 sensor hole and say that in the fine print
so you will have to have a bun welded in for your second O2 sensor example http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Toyota-Celi...sQ5fAccessories 4-2-1 (2 Piece Set) Direct Bolt On (Professional Installation Recommended) 10-15 hp gain by increasing overall exhaust air flow 3 Stage Polish Finish to give an absolute perfect shine! (1) O2 Sensor Hole Inlet / Outlet: 1.75"/1.9" This post has been edited by nik: Oct 23, 2009 - 6:44 PM -------------------- yea your 3sgte is cool but ill stick to my 7agte

I didn't realize you were running a 7a. From what I've gotten you'll need to extend the pipe 4-6 inches as well as have a second hole drilled for your other sensor. Sorry again for the confusion. |

I have the header from surewin and it's fine. It does sound good BUT I noticed a little loss in torque. It's kind of a big deal to me but I am expecting webcams soon to compensate for that and more.
Also, I think the OBX set may be 'tuned headers'??? Worth a look into. |
