http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/cto/1445925555.html

I found these two, TWO! 1st gen celis for sale, one is running n in pretty bad condition, but the other is a roller with no engine, body's fine. only problem is I'm in WI and they're in MN...so anyone have experience with car shipping? reliable companies (in the midwest), average cost?, anything would help... i would love to have TWO! of these beauties. although, the 77 seems rough... i wouldn't mind just getting the roller n putting an engine in it. but I really want this.

here's some pics of the cars.

Transfer the engine from the red one to the grey one. DO IT!

You're in the adjacent state...make the drive!

I googled auto shipping and used did a qoute. Got a bunch of emails and picked the cheapest one. Got my car in a week from Colorado to MN and it only cost 750. It came in a semi and they even had a tow truck come out with a flat bed to unload it for me, because the car was a rolling chassis. I say do it. btw I've seen the celica in MN in person. The guy is a pretty cool guy too. Works at the red rooster, thats where the car is at.

yeah, i did some googling too, got anywhere from $250-$400 for shipping, and that's cool that you know the guy, gives me some reassurance from a 6gc member. biggrin.gif but i might just go there and drive the running one back.

and yeah, actually the grey one is the running one, the red is just a parts car. so i might just get that one.

so i guess the pics of the grey one was a year old and it got rustier than that frown.gif

but now i'm considering doing the reverse of what SwissFerdi said
Take the engine from the grey one and put it in the red one, maybe swap
some parts over as well. what do you guys thinK??? it is worth it?
i mean it'll be around $1000 for two classics.... not sure if the rust would be
repairable but if it is i could easily get another engine from a toyota truck
or sumthing and pop it in there too biggrin.gif

The grey one looks miles better than the red, so I don't see why you'd swap the engine over to the red one? confused.gif
