OK... the shop is called JAMASCO auto repair... they do everything: from oil changes to turboing celicas ..... you can see some of his work HERE (2001 Celica with 3sgte) the guy you need to talk to is Jayson. it took 5 weeks, but they were understaffed for 2 weeks. Its a family shop, run by 3 brothers : Jayson, Marc, and Scot: thats where the name JA MA SCO comes from. i got the engine from thier uncle smile.gif. you can see how clean the installation is.. they had a 5th gen thats been swaped for 3 years and is still running fine: it was there getting a turbo upgrade. if you need any more info , just call them: 9549859958. they have also worked on 2fast 2 furious. when it comes to this swap: i reccomend you go with the MR2 engine and tranny... 2nd gen 3sgte is both cheaper and easier...also, you should get a front mount intercooler, and iam pretty sure dyno tunning is mandatory. it should be a nice 5500 including all the above...if you guys need anymore info, just tell me... or go to newcelica.org forum: he posts there allot.

also: i just beat a 350z and a Sentra SER tonight smile.gif the SER was a friend of mine that beat me when my car was ST.... He was nice enough to rematch , even thou there was no way in hell he was gonna win.

Looks like they do very nice work. I'm ususally pretty critical of the workmanship in swaps but that is very nice. Did your tranny come with a limited slip? Does it even matter when the boost hits in first gear? wink.gif

thanks... all mr2 trannys come with LSD, boost hits early i think in first gear... i plan on buying the remote switch for the boost controller, this way i can start out with normal boost, then halfway threw races switch to higher boost with ease.

That is really great information, congrats on the beast;)

I was destroyed by a SRT-4 today, so I am feeling a bit low. It's nice to hear about a celica winning!

Jon

Edit: I heard the 3rd gen engine had clearance problems with the stock hood, did you have any problems?

Not all MR2 tranny's come with LSD...

But yeah... car's looking good... and can you control/program your boost level with your EBC?

What octane gas are you running? Are you running water injection? Cuz 20 psi is a lot of boost. I'd like to hear your results from running 16+. Cuz here in Cali, our highest available found at regular gas stations is 91. I'm afraid that if I boost above 14 that I'm going to detonate and ping like crazy.

Thats some wicked stuff dude. What is your topspeed and your 0-60 ? Are you faster then the GT4 ?

And what about the cornering ? Cause 300 hp at the front wheels seems pretty hard to keep on the road.

if his engine was 100% stock, just by putting it in a fwd car it made it faster, in most cases.

gt4's dont have traction problems and can launch with way more power.

im guessing his top speed would be around 145-150, maybe more, but he is using an mr2 tranny and im pretty sure mr2 turbos couldnt go faster than that.

i made it such a sweet car.

top speed should be a over 150.... so far ive gone to 130.... i dont floor my car when iam turning at all.... i should be faster than a gt-4, probably not gonna have the oppurtunity to run against one thou. iam only running 250 hp at the wheels right now.... i havent turned it up to 300 yet. i havent timed my 0-60 yet... but i will soon.... i am gonna take it to the track sometime in january.
