I've thought since i have to buy 2 new rims.. might get some 18" or some wider ones and go with a staggered look.. ;-)

I would say stock as well only because all oem rims are designed to take impacts like the one you just went through. If you do get a different set I would try to look into what rims actually are designed to take bumps because most aren't. May save you in the future.

It's a little the rims' fault. Drag wheels are very very cheap, I'm replacing mine soon. But it's largely due in part to the low profile tire. He had a 40 series. OEM wheels have higher series tires, since the wheels are smaller, thus taking pot holes better. More room for the air in the tire to move around and flex. If you put a 40 series tire on an OEM wheel, I'd be willing to bet that there would be a similar result after a pot hole.

I second that. Only downside is that it's a bit of a taller wheel and tire package, unfortunately.

Quick question. Did this happen in town or on a state road?

I used to work for a town, and a pothole fuxed up a rim, and the Town had to pay since they are supposed to maintain the roads. Just saying, you could try going for that if you really wanted.

a few people have said that.. however it was on a big hole that was on the side of the road where it splits into 4 lanes.. so technically i ran off the road a little to hit it...so doubt they'd fix it.. kindasad.gif
