Right, since I'm haveing so much hassle with my cold start I need a little info, I've changed the coolant temp sensor, am tryin to find a fuel rail adapotor so I can fit a afpr, will be getting a hrc performance fuel pump, no one on any forum answers if the fpr vsv deals with cold start? but the last thing is the ecu may be at fualt! So ive found a ecu on eBay near me for good money but it's from a st202 import 3sge, my celica gt is a uk spec car, will the jap ecu fit stright in?

Don't see why it wouldn't plug right in but a few pins may need to be swapped. I'm pretty sure your local celica club has wiring diagrams of the different UK GT and JDM models.

Find out if ECU deals with EGR or not because thats the only difference I know of between the motors

Well when I first start the car cold instead of firing up to around 1500 1600 rpm and slowly lowering it just starts and goes to around 1000 which is the idle speed, if reved it'll stall and won't restart, for a good minute or so and only if I have my foot to the floor, once warmed up though reves fall off to around 900 or 800 rpm for a few mintues and then go back up to1000 rpm and runs sweet. Even if started hot or warm it revs up to almost 2000 and settles to idle fine. I'm stuck?

Also don't think 3sge has cold start injector, not in manuel etc. Tryed two icv's, new temp sensor. All I can think of is that it's down to the ecu, fpr or fuel pump! Dont know if fpr vsv handles cold or hot starts?
had car vac tested when I bough it a year ago and removed all lines Saturday went I removed to intake manifold to find the fpr location

I give up!
Ok you win im beat,
To up date what I've done, changed the engine temp sensor the ecu one as well as the smaller one, changed the throttle body and gasget, changed the ecu! Rest timing and today fitted a hrc performance fuel pump! Still no cold start!
Looked at dissy cap and looks ok so do plugs, what is going on! Got no codes in service mode!
Why won't it just work
Going to set fire to it I swear
The last thing I'm going to try is the fuel pressure regulator, fitted a ajustble one a week or so back just need an rail adaptor to finish it, I hear if they fail it can over or under fuel so last ditch attempt unlessany one has anything to add? Don't want to sell it just want it to work!
