im working on making a housing that will cover the back of the fog lamps since it is so low to the ground i want the lights to be functional yet durable in the rain and on rocky roads such as construction sights. any ideas will b help im open to all comments. thanks guys

i have autozone projector fogs w/ an hid kit. works nice && when mounted properly will last a good while.

Yeah ive seen that done before (not to b a jerk jus saying) but i want to b different i want the original fog lamps to b hid i havnt seen anyone do it yet

it should be the same as converting your headlights to HID

I thought it would b the same to but the fog lamp bulb is held in by what looks like a battery and a bulb with a white rope looking wire and spring its definetely different, i havnt seen this before haha

That's the H3 Halogen Bulb.

That's the H3 Halogen Bulb.

its a little different to mount the bulb but with reasoning you can do it smile.gif

I was just looking at a set of HID fogs on a Celica this weekend. It looks like what you have to do is cut a hole in the back of the housing for the wires then seal it up with some silicone.

I have them, its just a replacement bulb wired through the HID ballast. You have to run wires and seal with silicone or rtv. Pretty easy and it matches the low-beams.

^Was that my car? laugh.gif

I've done it. The only downside to this is that if the bulbs go out, I'll need to pull off all the sealant and lay down a fresh patch.

Basically, I drilled a hole in the housing where the OEM cable came through. The hole was just barely big enough to get the HID connectors through, then I plugged it all back up with some RTV. I've had them on since December and haven't had a problem with them.

I have full HIDs installed into my fogs and low beams, everything else on my car is LED converted. Heres a crappy pic below.
