For a good aftermarket lsd for the s54 will run 900+ but than again a e153 around the same price with all the axles and what not correct? The only down fall to a e153 is if a axle brakes your down for a bit to make another axle, while a s54 you can easy get a new one within a day. I'm in the same boat as you, not sure if i should go e153 or lsd for s54.

I'd say it depends in your power goals. To quote Manny, below 300 hp, the S54 is fine. Above that, E153. I don't remember if that was whp or bhp, but that gives you an idea of where to start.

my goal is about 180 to 200 whp. but the main reason for the lsd is too perform at the track better.

S54 with an MR-S LSD should be perfect for you then.

Some stock s54 come with oem helical lsd. No finding an s54 with lsd is pretty hard. Id get an helical lsd on the track for sure. Id say viscious lsd is a thing of the past. Even the acura itr uses a helical, so that says a lot right there
The the s54 weighs 25lbs lighter than e153 tranny This post has been edited by BonzaiCelica: Feb 19, 2012 - 3:43 AM -------------------- Group buy to replicate Narrow E series transaxle parts
