no f-ing way kurt thats crazy. hardly know what to say... good tastes
to smaay my bubbles not burst the blue/purple/red pattern doesnt match the rest of the interior. those colors came on the jap and aus celis all the way into the 2000s and to mr220v is there any specific reason it has to be manual opt. ecu.. im going with an auto. please forgive me for my ignorance, i do want her legal. dont know what the manual opt. would be for. i trust your word, just confused. also you think the 1mz ecu will run my stock trans no problem? man i cant stop thanking thank you guys, your knowledge has been invaluable, if what you said is correct mr22v i could have done somthing real stupid getting an 03. so ive been doing as much research as the internet will allow me and i found a couple pics if both the 5s and 1mz flex plates.
first the 5s ![]() ![]() and the 1mz ![]() ![]() sure look the same to me, but trans are kind of foreign territory for me. only difference i see is acouple welds on the outer ring. probably added strength for v6. so i thought id run this by you guys.. opinions? |

The out side is the same around so the outer bolt holes may be the same -------------------- 95 gt coupe, v6 swap weekend toy

yuh know after switching back an forth between pics.
an i definitely agree on the inner bolt pattern being a lil smaller. and after even further inspection looks like the outer bolts are alittle inset in the 5s plate. so do you guys think that ill be able to mod it safely. im thinking drill out the center bore and slot boltholes to the same as the 1mz, an use the 1mz spacers to ad strength to what i modded. that or talk to my local fab shop. or am i being silly and this is alot bigger problem than i think? |

Because while you can beat the solenoid codes with resistors, you will still be stuck with a code for the transmission speed sensor. With 97+ ecu's, you just ground the adj pin instead. |

^^^ he wants to keep using an auto tranny.
dont worry about the inner diameter of the bolts, you are going to use the 1MZ flex plate no matter what. what you need is the torque converter bolts to line up. -------------------- 2001 Celica GT-S Turbo

thank you smaay.. that was stock auto trans.
and yeah after talking with my pops. i found a place that i should be able to get a customized flex plate for the 1mz. also looking into whether or not i can find a torque converter to match the 1mz plate. thanks man to mr220v thank you very much, but i need to know about my stock a140e auto trans. will the pre 97 ecu run my auto just fine like it was the a541e(stock auto for camry/avalon), which has almost the exact same gear ratios?
