Yeah, don't bother getting junk like that, you'll hate yourself for it. Save a bit more and get something that doesn't need much.

Go karts??

Place has some karts, that is if they are open for the season.

I did this a few years ago and it was the most fun I had in a while (I used to race go karts nationally). It was practice, one heat, and one big feature race. I wasn't used to the adrenaline and abuse in the karts, so I almost threw up that evening when my body started catching up. haha!

https://sugarriverraceway.com/

It included EVERYTHING. I had my own suit and gear, but they have everything there that you'd need. It was only like $80 for the day. SOOOO much more than you get with any indoor place and it was a complete blast. There was probably close to 20 people racing. I think I may do this again this year for my birthday regardless.

So... Everyone is ok for the 25th of April?!? AND are we ok for Going to Devil's Lake, WI for this meet?

I'm cool with all of that, you should just formally set it and pick a place to meet. smile.gif I'd prefer not to drive around too much once we're there, but that's just me.

So... April 25th?!?!

Now do we want to make it a good long weekend or is not everyone going to be able to?

where is this long weekend to be made since you started the thread? Nebraska? Wisconsin? Canada? or just the same ol' thang at the same ol place with the same ol people?

I vote for Starved Rock because I'd love to take my daughter on the trails, through the water, and on the stairs of death.

Ived used those or something very similar, if you're not moving power or ground of many amps they're ok. I wasn't thrilled with how tight the seals fit so I packed them with thick silicone grease. Should probably pack all the electrical connections to make sure there's nothing wicking in on humid days in storage.

I was just about to say the same thing about the dielectric grease, I'd pack em and then you never have to worry about them.

So, after I get her back together, she'll get a full tank of gas with Stabil, and we'll start talking to the body shop again.

Not sure if you have any Casey's gas stations around you, but some of them carry 93 octane ethanol free pump gas. One a town over from me carries it and I use it for my small engine stuff, including my two stroke string trimmer and blower.

The closest one is 23 miles from me. It would cost me 1/4 tank just to get there and back. It'd be one hell of a break-in run though.....

YES! lol. I would just call ahead of time. Chicago doesn't have much for ethanol free gas. It's crazy how much it tears up aluminum (in small engines). It's basically poison for two stroke engines. I pair it with Amsoil Saber stroke oil and they start on the first pull, every time.

BUT... you like doing this stuff to your car because you don't work on cars for a living. I work on cars for a living & they (cars) all suck big donkey balls, plain & simple. It really ruined a perfectly good hobby. [Of course this is not true for everyone]

My father has been an automotive tech for a bit over 30 years and he is beyond tired of it. It truly does ruin it for most people, especially when you work in the salt belt.

I love the amount of effort that you're putting into this project. It's such a good feeling to just dive into something with no idea what you're doing, learn some things, acquire tools, and just grow as a person.

Keep any eye for oil burn off, last I read about that oil it had a higher volatility than some other oils in it's price range but was otherwise a good oil.

you can also price match Walmart prices at Oriellys as long as it's locally in stock. I do it every time just to avoid Walmart lines

Shipped for free to your door over $35. smile.gif

I don't condone shopping at Walmart, but it's where I get my 5 quart jugs of oil. They're Pennzoil Ultra is on sale right now for $20/five quarts. FYI.
