is there any way to tell what transmission is in a car after it got swapped it was a 90 celica gts got a 3sgte put in and its from a mr2 turbo well the shifter cable rataining clips werent there i need to know which ones i need i ordered them for a 94 mr2 turbo. the reason behind this is because look for sparked plugs for the celica all trac 3sgte and they were wrong and the mr2 turbo sparks were right let me know if u think i will need the mr2 ones

The alltrac & MR2 part #s are the same, its the same engine so if they were wrong then you got something completely different.

If the person who did the swap got the engine from an MR2T and used a clip, he probably put in the E153 tranny. If he only used the engine then he could have used his stock S53 transmission. Either way, you might wanna check out Celicatech considering its a question about a 5th gen.

this cant be true considering the spark plug wires are different. we order the alltrac ones and they were different from the mr2 turbo wires which were right.

What? Can you restate your question a little more clearly?

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

yeah, please clarify.

The plugs should all be the same.
The wires are different depending on year.
