Started to take apart some suspension nuts n bolts for rack n pinion replacement. New ic pipes measured and mocked up. Pcv and fpr replaced. New fuel lines. Replaced some old lines. I hope to finish everything this weekend.

Will be ordering new rear wheel bearings, passenger wheel bearings, and other small misc to make sure it runs reliably.

It's getting warmer here in MN lol. Couple more months before she's on the road again!

Worked on getting the manifold/turbo out. Ordered a bunch of misc from Prime Driven a while back so I replaced old parts (nut & bolts, oem Toyota oil filter, o2 sensor, etc). Got a few more interior pieces out.

Just ordered new fmic, new ic pipings, new radiator, HKS fuel cut defender, and rack and pinion.

As it keeps getting warmer throughout the week, I'll be putting in work.

4th gen swaps are pretty common now. Having a complete harness is key. My 3rd gen swap was a breeze, no extension just a couple wires to solder and drive away with the wind.

If your guys are good with what they do, find them a wiring diagram and they'll finish the job. Otherwise contact Wiregap.

QUOTE (GuYun14 @ Dec 5, 2018 - 2:43 PM) *
An engine swap is definitely one of my top wants and the budget Iím trying to set myself at is probably $2000-$3000 for the summer. Keep in mind that Iím am heading off to college, so Iíll have to save some money for that as well. Seeing that cheelaís swap is over $3000 Iím not sure if my budget is enough. Also, since my Celica is a 1998, obd-II and emission might be a problem passing. But if I can get a swap done within my budget, that will be the project Iím heading towards. Either a 1mz-fe or a Redtop BEAMs swap, want to keep it NA. And I know the 1mz-fe motor can be gotten for cheap, plus parts available. And I need it up and running before college.

Next on my want list would be getting seat time for autocross so I can get a feel for my car and have fun during the summer and I would probably just replace suspension parts here and there, so I guess it is the cheapest route.

As for camming the 5s-fe, since it doesnít appear to be as much work as doing a swap and is considerably cheaper, I might do what Tigawoods did and have it for a couple years then swap the motor when I really do have the time and money and not in a rush.

When it comes to my carís body, itís still in good shape just a couple rust spots here and there to touch up on, but a new color is tempting.

So if an engine swap is viable this coming summer, I might go that route.

Whatís everyoneís thought?

Might as well just buy mines for 3k LOL wink.gif

Everything will cost money.

My suspension: spring/struts were $300, coilovers were $900, twosrus endlinks were $80 (rears), rear strut bar was $70. If buying new, prepare to spend for good combo.

Forget cams for the 5sfe, save for a swap along with the manual swap. My swap was $1000 with everything needed to run. Well, I got lucky here.

As for bodywork, my car was from Georgia. ****ty body with dings, dents, and the whole ****z but I'll be working on the suspension for auto-x so I don't care.

Thanks for the response. Ive asked with no luck (FB) no stock ECU. I've tested the pretty much everything and cannot find what the issue is. Fuel, plugs, everything should be where they are with the exception of the extra plugs (FMIC) and misc plugs we don't need.

I am also thinking it's the Blitz ECU. I'll try and get a hold of one to test before winter hits. Thanks smile.gif

Lol I want to. Drives well just cant figure out what's wrong. Check fuel pump and regulator and everything works as it should.

It's always done this since swap was done. It's annoying as hell but it's also fun as hell lol.

I tried looking but didn't see what I was looking for. I have a 1995 Celica GT with a 3rd gen wrc 3sgte. Drives well and takes off on my BIL's Evo but theres just one issue: car stalls after boost if I dont hold it in gear. As soon as I see the speedometer fall I quickly put it in gear so engine won't stall.

Ive checked for boost leaks with soap and water and everything checked out. I feel like it's related to the fuel pressure but am not 100% certain. Mods I have are: aftermarket manifold, 3" down pipe, 3" exhaust system, BLITZ ecu, hks bov (non recirculating). Code 54 has been defeated and is throwing no codes. Nought some new spark plugs from PRIME. Drives and idles where it should be.

Anyone have this issue or know what it mat be? I think its fuel related, maybe the Blitz ecu? I really need help as this is annoying as hell. TIA

Yep it's becoming harder to find. I'll just order the replicas from Europe.

350Z's are good looking cars. I was going to buy one in 2013 before I got my FRS but it just wasn't for me. Quick car but it felt heavy and steering wasn't there for me. Post up some pics when you get the chance!

Test fitted my wheels. Rears are close to flush, fronts might need a notch of - camber. Getting my tires this weekend so we will know more.
