I disagree. I have been praying that mrgrape wouldn't start another thread of pointlessness.... but look what happened

Some of these threads age like fine wine though.

Building your car because itís what you enjoy is so much better than building your car for the internet. I hardly go to car meets or cars and coffee events anymore because it just doesnít feel the same as it used to. I wonít say the majority or even half of the people there arenít there for the community anymore, but there is a noticeable percentage who ďbuiltĒ their cars with crappy fender flares and only try to push their Instagrams, which why why I have even more respect for the effort you continue to put into your Celica and your Rav.

We still do but Brigette bought it from me back in 2010 and still hasnít put me back on the title, so I donít technically get to say I own one anymore. WimminzÖ

Heís not really too active on the forum anymore but he was still fairly active on Facebook before I left. You might be able to get in touch with him there through the 6gc group or he might still respond to PMís on here.

A couple of pictures just because I agree that it needs a supercharger. The sports pack wheels suit it nicely but I’m eyeing some HRE’s.

NOT GREAT! Turns out I am not in good shape to be doing secret agent man stuff.

The car is fantastic though. Slow as heck in a straight line but in the corners, itís a helluva car. I recently took it on a mountain cruise and I have to say, itís certainly an experience to be rowing gears in a 6 speed Aston with that V8 soundtrack. Straight line performance really isnít as bad as I say it is but you just donít get any drama from it. Itís a very smooth engine and all the power comes on above 5,000 rpm so itís not power you use around town. When you do use it, the power curve is is very linear so you never really feel it. You certainly hear it though!

I expected endless James Bond remarks with this car. So far I have gotten none. I have, however, gotten multiple remarks about my ďBatmobile.Ē

I have requested ďDAT ASTĒ for a license plate. Letís see if it gets approved.

Absolutely, come on out any time! Itíd be great to get the cars out on a cruise. I canít claim any ownership in it though, honestly all I did is pull the 5S out and install some ill fitting seat covers.

Rubber line or hard line? Either way, upgrade to some stainless braided lines! The hard lines are still available from Toyota. I just did ours a few years ago. Definitely the most expensive way to do the job but I didnít want to deal with straightening the lines or anything. A good set of flare wrenches is a must for the job.

You know it does!

No Merc engine in this one. It started life as a Ford V8, then Jag/Land Rover got their hands on it, then Aston revised it once again. Sounds frightening but itís turned out to be a damn good engine and makes one hell of a noise. Not that fast or powerful but the sound alone makes driving the car an event.

This is essentially a crummy Ford that will collect dust in my garage. We all know Iíll drive it for about a day, keep it maybe 7 years or so, then sell it.

Regardless of incorrect opinions, I want to hear what you guys think is the most beautiful sheet metal ever.

Finally got mine in today. Theyíre decently detailed. Of course the headlights are just stickers over a smooth body but overall not bad.

For some reason Iím thinking they were all Cali spec in Ď99. The most noteworthy difference to my memory was one cat vs two so that would be a good indicator. The fact that you said you got record gas mileage sticks out to me. Whatever you have going on is likely causing a lean condition instead of a rich condition. Typically if the ECU thinks something is wrong it will dump fuel so this makes me think either you have an O2 sensor that could be failing sending the wrong signal to the ECU or something mechanical. Since itís after the engine warms up, Iím not thinking itís something mechanical.

I think Vipers are awesome cars but for some reason I just donít feel all that compelled to own one. Iíd drive the crap out of an R8 or Gallardo though.
