Best picture I’ve taken of it in the last couple of years.

A couple of pictures just because I agree that it needs a supercharger. The sports pack wheels suit it nicely but I’m eyeing some HRE’s.

NOT GREAT! Turns out I am not in good shape to be doing secret agent man stuff.

The car is fantastic though. Slow as heck in a straight line but in the corners, it’s a helluva car. I recently took it on a mountain cruise and I have to say, it’s certainly an experience to be rowing gears in a 6 speed Aston with that V8 soundtrack. Straight line performance really isn’t as bad as I say it is but you just don’t get any drama from it. It’s a very smooth engine and all the power comes on above 5,000 rpm so it’s not power you use around town. When you do use it, the power curve is is very linear so you never really feel it. You certainly hear it though!

I expected endless James Bond remarks with this car. So far I have gotten none. I have, however, gotten multiple remarks about my “Batmobile.”

I have requested “DAT AST” for a license plate. Let’s see if it gets approved.

Yeah, we’re still in Colorado, for better or for worse.

Absolutely, come on out any time! It’d be great to get the cars out on a cruise. I can’t claim any ownership in it though, honestly all I did is pull the 5S out and install some ill fitting seat covers.

Rubber line or hard line? Either way, upgrade to some stainless braided lines! The hard lines are still available from Toyota. I just did ours a few years ago. Definitely the most expensive way to do the job but I didn’t want to deal with straightening the lines or anything. A good set of flare wrenches is a must for the job.

You know it does!

No Merc engine in this one. It started life as a Ford V8, then Jag/Land Rover got their hands on it, then Aston revised it once again. Sounds frightening but it’s turned out to be a damn good engine and makes one hell of a noise. Not that fast or powerful but the sound alone makes driving the car an event.

This is essentially a crummy Ford that will collect dust in my garage. We all know I’ll drive it for about a day, keep it maybe 7 years or so, then sell it.

I don’t care what you say. It’s the Aston Martin Vantage. Or the Vanquish. Or the DB9. Or the DBS. Doesn’t matter, they all look the same. laugh.gif

Regardless of incorrect opinions, I want to hear what you guys think is the most beautiful sheet metal ever.

Putting my money where my mouth is and bringing this home next week.

Finally got mine in today. They’re decently detailed. Of course the headlights are just stickers over a smooth body but overall not bad.

For some reason I’m thinking they were all Cali spec in ‘99. The most noteworthy difference to my memory was one cat vs two so that would be a good indicator. The fact that you said you got record gas mileage sticks out to me. Whatever you have going on is likely causing a lean condition instead of a rich condition. Typically if the ECU thinks something is wrong it will dump fuel so this makes me think either you have an O2 sensor that could be failing sending the wrong signal to the ECU or something mechanical. Since it’s after the engine warms up, I’m not thinking it’s something mechanical.

What can I say, I have a type laugh.gif

I think Vipers are awesome cars but for some reason I just don’t feel all that compelled to own one. I’d drive the crap out of an R8 or Gallardo though.

While I don’t disagree, let’s be honest, that would never look as good as this:

I keep forgetting to post this here… Hot Wheels has an ST205 hitting the shelves in the States sometime in May. I preordered mine about a month ago then forgot about it on and off. The rest of the set is meh, nothing they haven’t made several times in the last several years but the ST205 is new. I expect we will be seeing a more basic version later this year as a Basic or a Mainline car but for now, it’s awesome to see the Celica getting some love.

They are also releasing all five in a storage container.

The old Mazda blasted through 10 inch snow with the DWS tires on it, gotta hand it to those tires!

That makes one of us. The Terra Grapplers on my truck are garbage in the snow.

They don't look like they should be bad, is it like low temp hard rubber or they just can't grab the snow? We put some Cooper ATW on a Jeep and F250 for a plow company and they're pretty boss for snow and don't eat it in the summer.

Not like I’ve tested them on a track in the cold but they seem to do alright when it’s just cold. It seems more like the tread gets packed with snow at low speeds. They definitely hold snow worse than other tires I’ve had. Still, I can only imagine how those crappy tires I sent you pictures of over the summer would have been…

There’s more coming too. Just gotta do one project at a time. I ordered a decal for the trailer so it will say “RODGERS.” It kind of bothers me that the semi and trailer aren’t correct but to be fair, the Civics aren’t the right ones either. It’ll be good enough.

Well, done spending money on big cars. I still spend way too much on little cars. You can guess where this is going.

Oh snaps!!!! Moving the garage around I see!! I added a couple new Toyota's to the fleet last year. 03 v8 4runner, gs400 and a OG build back from 2005!

I miss our ‘06 V8 4Runner quite a bit. That’s up there in my favorite vehicles we’ve owned so far.

Must be really close friends with the dealership, lol.

Unfortunately it’s more like the dealership is friends with me… nearly $8,000 in port-installed addons to the 4Runner. Nothing I could remove since they were all on the Monroney and yet it’s nothing that we wanted or needed. The next 4Runner will only be the options we want on it though. I’m genuinely trying to be done spending money on cars. laugh.gif

I’m in the Dominican Republic this week so I’m a little slow to get posts approved, but my signature is a sure sign that we trade cars way too often. The forum goes down for a year and I sell the Supra, the Rav went away, bought a 4Runner and Tacoma, and this 4Runner is going away for another brand new one in the next month or two. laugh.gif
