Don't think I've seen a QF interior before, quite possible its an anniversary edition (I know they did a SS-I anniversary edition) Any interior photos

Welcome to 6GC too btw

Yes! It is a SS-III pre beams (the amount of people these days who still get it wrong puzzles me lol)

Check out the stickied threads at the top of each section - have lots of info how to's etc in those

Welcome, I've just shifted this over to the FI section

Might I suggest having a read through the list of project threads and look for ST/GT with swapped 3S-GTE's in the description

Also the 6GC FI dyno's, and that would give you an idea what mods are needed to reach your HP goal.

Lastly check out the suspension/handling section as imo, power is nothing without control, especially in a 300hp FWD.

Hi, welcome to 6gc, nice to have another NZ'er join.

They may need time to settle, rear does usually sit a tad higher. possibly put some weight in the boot to see if they come down any more

Very loud and in your face imo. A bit of a cringe how they say 'Sell a car'. Mostly focuses on the American history with the euro rally added in.

While over the ditch, NZ make these custom ones...

They can do 45mm, 48mm or 50mm

Not sure on price. But gen 3 owners could use their lower intake runners, and possibly a small adaptor bracket between that and the itb's

Not sure either what was available over in the US. Looks to me like it was very generic lines - ones that would fit other other models eg oil cap, radiator cap

They were 69,000 Yen new, 616USD in todays conversion. so I assume somewhere around there.
You see the steering wheel randomly on celicas here in nz when they pop up for sale. So some owner must have splashed out while it was in Japan.

Yeah the SS-III seats would just match my celica a bit more with the black/red.

Oh wow, its an honour to know that I've been an inspiration to other owners.

I must get out and do more photos of it soon. Work & life seem to get in the way atm.

Totalled, that was his old red ST from memory, before we bought this current silver GT w/beams swap

Interesting, most of mine are working atm.

Any chance you have the images saved somewhere else?

Thanks.

how did you crash that one again? TRD steering wheel for the Celica is the same as the Supras, so they usually keep a ridiculously high price on those now. They used to be cheaper years ago. But looks like people had figured out TRD's weird way of assigning which wheel to which model. There are a number of SS-III red seats up for sale atm, which would look great with my Celica. Just they are not as tidy as mine, a little wear and tear on those for sale.

Interesting gearbox build, are you still using the E56's viscous LSD?

Just wondering if they are the USA super street version? Which from memory looked slightly different to the Japanese ST202 version that I (and Tiga) have?

QUOTE (BonzaiCelica)
Beams axles(wasn't able to install the passenger side because threads were slightly smashed and no shop had a big enough tool for it, ill put it on later. The section between the axle bracket on passenger side and where it plugs into transmission is 5mm thicker vs McPherson axle. And of course they have more bearings according to Mr 2grfe dead pic links!

Yes all SS-II & SS-III use the 6 bearing set up so not just superstrut.

Couple of questions, are you using the correct brakelines for the front, as it looked like in old pics you were using factory McPherson ones? Second (hard to tell in pics) did you get new superstrut top hats

thumbsup.gif thanks for the shout out in the video. Copy me a bit by going to red though laugh.gif

Looking forward to more progress..

Today I bought this..... TRD exhaust for the Beams. It'll be awhile before it gets here but I'm excited for it.

From my Japan TRD parts thread

Actually designed for the 3S-GE gen 3, not the beams 3S-GE. Though if its like other exhausts made for the 3S-GE/beams you'll only need a 2-3" exhaust section to fit in-between the exhaust

Yes they are, I still have the center caps, just looks nicer without them in. Very hard to find these days in this condition & even in NZ.
