hey guys... what do you guys think...

i have a 2000 eclipse gt and it looks really nice and is a good car and i've never
had any problems with it but i love my celica and i'm thinking about selling my
eclipse to drop in a 3sgte in my celica...

i know i can get at least 3000 for my eclipse... so give me some input guys..


the only thing i'm not going to like is alot of people don't really know what celicas are compared
to all the looks and compliments i get on my eclipse...

Sell it. I think that year model is more of a chick at than our 6GCs are. Just my opinion.

yeah i actually think that alot myself actually.... and the celi would be a beast with the new setup in it...

its just the fact i'd be carless for a week or so

i'm very interested in doing it, i've been talking to Jim a little bit lately and i'm waiting to hear
back from him a little more before i can actually start pursuing anything, but tomorrow i might
go ahead and throw the eclipse on craigslist to see if i can get any bites

Not to be a ney sayer or anything but if you go in to a 3S swap with 3 g's and no daily driver, things will be rough for a little bit. Not saying you shouldnt get a 3s and sell your other car, but you may think about stacking some more cash than that right off the bat. Good luck, hope it all works out

well i have other cars i can drive (( the parents cars)) but i just don't like driving them. ha


and by the time i sell my eclipse i should have about another grand in the bank... yesterday was my birthday, got about 300 from that.. already had 200 in the bank, and my next check should be around 600 and i can put 4 or so in the bank... so total being around 4000 by the time i start the mission (:

Alright cool. Just make sure the cars in tip top shape to handle 200-300 hp and dont go cheap on parts, do it right the first time. I only say this becuase I am going through the swap myself right now. Good luck man

Didn't you wreck the eclipse? It wouldn't be worth 3k at that point.

yup.. hit a deer and messed up the front bumper and fender, and headlight, but no actual damage...


I got new black chrome projectors for it, new fender, and new bumper, it all buffed out, and my garage re painted it for free. all in all cost me about 800 bucks. but i got originally 1600 from the insurance company, but they sent me an extra 669 dollars for an error they made in labor costs and paint fees.

fixed as of yesterday... went to a u pull it yard called ricks auto and bought a whole new setup for 100 bucks..

New glass, slides and rails, and motor all for 100. dropped it right in and now it works like brand new!

Yep, he does. I was just curious if you had put together a parts list, for an ST the bare minimum for parts would look something like this.

Motor w/ ecu, sensors, intercooler, and wiring harness
Transmission
Shift Linkage
Axles
Mounts
Clutch/Flywheel
Fuel Pump
Exhaust
Gasket Set
Maintenance stuff i.e. Spark Plugs/Wires, Fuel Filter, o2 sensor etc.
Gauges
Fluids- Oil, Coolant, Transmission Fluid, Premium Gas

Maybe more, its just early. But again thats just for the bone stock 3sgte, definetly worth it, but definetly not cheap.
