With the first Midwest meet behind us, I can now post this up.
WARNING: ***Storytime with Chris*** Two years ago, one of my fellow mods over on Celicatech made the decision that it was time to sell his car to fund the purchase of a more practical DD. It was suggested that I purchase the car, but I was not in a financial position to do so. I passed on the offer and the car was listed on Ebay. The auction ended below the reserve, and he circled back around to give me one more shot at it. Stacy and I took it as a sign and scraped up the cash to buy it. That was April 2017. Fast forward to April 2019, two years of pushing this large financial commitment out of my head, and this pulls up in front of my house: That new new by bloodMoney2012, on Flickr That new new by bloodMoney2012, on Flickr That new new by bloodMoney2012, on Flickr That new new by bloodMoney2012, on Flickr The trans had a high RPM grind in 3rd, so the PO put in a new trans as part of the sale. All buttoned up: Untitled by bloodMoney2012, on Flickr That new new by bloodMoney2012, on Flickr Let me tell you, it's been a long 2 years... It's so small compared to the 4Runner! That new new by bloodMoney2012, on Flickr History on the car: It was imported to Canada in 2009 as a Grade 4 car. It was used as a DD for a few years before the mod bug bit and little things started happening. It was taken off DD in 2011 and has been a fun car ever since. It's not without it's fair share of warts, mostly cosmetic. It needs a complete respray, but there's no rust anywhere on this thing. I've put 300km on it since Friday, and this car is hands-down the BEST driving Celica I've driven. I've already put my SSRs to use... What a difference a set of wheels can make. Was granted some free time Saturday to dig into the issue.
Found a new use for the lift: Untitled by bloodMoney2012, on Flickr The box fought me a bit. I guess now we know why: Untitled by bloodMoney2012, on Flickr As I removed the pressure plate bolts, things started to fall out... Untitled by bloodMoney2012, on Flickr After all is said and done: Untitled by bloodMoney2012, on Flickr I'm glad it's not the box. Now I just need to order up parts to get it back together. -------------------- ~bloodMoney

Well there's your problem. At least it was just the clutch.

Well that clutch hub jumped the **** out of there. Thankfully it didn't do any damage to the surroundings!

That’ll stop a car from moving under it’s own power pretty quick...

No photos, but I did get the intercooler pump rebuilt last night.
It won't be making any more noise. We tested it with a power probe after reassembly and it still made a little noise, but you won't hear it when it's in the car. This post has been edited by bloodMoney: Sep 13, 2019 - 7:30 AM -------------------- ~bloodMoney

Even small steps forward is still progress.
They're worth it though, and no one can fault you for having priorities in order. This post has been edited by Box: Sep 13, 2019 - 2:41 PM -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

Well, I thought I had all the parts to change the clutch, but when I pulled off the flywheel to replace the friction disk:
Turns out, this flywheel was from an early production run that Fidanza did for the 3S, and they no longer support the old bolt pattern. It took two weeks, but in the end, they took really good care of me and we worked out a deal for a new flywheel. Let's just say, that they have earned my return business and my recommendation to anyone looking for a lightweight flywheel. Customer service was top notch. Now, I can start getting this thing back together. This post has been edited by bloodMoney: Oct 14, 2019 - 8:20 AM -------------------- ~bloodMoney

Aside from the clutch chatter I get, I really like the Fidanza flywheel that I have in the Supra.

Good customer service is where I always go. That's why I love Amazon so much. I've used and abused their return policy so much, and they continue to keep me as a customer because I know I'll always be taken care of.
