As far as I know, some have one and some don't. If it does, it tops out at 118. If not, the gears will only reach ~135(5th gear at 6200 rpm). From what I've heard, the governor came on cars with H rated tires from the factory.

Arron is right, but they're at 111mph (on the gps, the speedo is a ways off).

It can be removed. Check out EvilSpeed and click on tech articles for the writeup.

well removing the govenor or not... to utilize the modification would mean traveling over 111MPH as speedtoe said, so reguardless to use it is illegal lol

Unless your engine is modified to withstand higher RPM, or you like engine replacement, don't mess with the rev limiter. You'd be almost assured to damage something on a motor without some reworking.

*EDIT My spelling is bad*

You cannot change the revlimiter without getting an aftermarket ECU. Probably in the neighborhood of $1300 + labor (minimum). And like everybody said, theres not much point on the street without upgraded internals.

You're not going to win races by rasing the rev limiter dude.

No, its higher than that. Peak torque is at about 4500. Peak power is somewhere north of 6k, but I don't remember the exact number.
