Have always wondered if this thing was stock or aftermarket.
I am guessing it's just a normal security system? I know some Celica's came with a stock system... is that what this is? Couldn't find much info using search.

That is not a stock alarm, I had the stock alarm, its was under the seat, and said "Toyota vehicle security system" in bold right on the top. but that looks really old, cant be that good. I bought a new 2 way LCD pager with remote start off ebay. its great, worth the money if your lookin to get a new one. not to hard to install eaither.

thanks for the confirmation... I was pretty sure it wasn't the stock one, but wanted to make sure before I go ripping the thing out. I am definetly looking for something new since whatever is in there now has never functioned. Mainly just want some sort of alarm and keyless entry.

i dont understand those lcd screen ones caus in order for those to work you have to be fairly close to your car and usaully then you should be able to here it going off , i just had a prestige alram and keyless today i it has a nice chirp to it kinda richie soundig but thats al i need , and for the alarm matter sure they are a deturent to the common thief but any experieced thief has no prolems with alarms

those pager lcd alarms get quite annoying after a while. my buddy had one on his turboed 'teg and everytime someone got out of there car his sensors would beep twice and then his lcd would be paged. and i mean every time someone walked by his car it would go off, needless to say he got rid of that alarm because it got to annoying.
