I've been waiting for this! I am in, but yes the traveling thing is bad for me.. anything on the East Coast I can handle... but crossing the Mighty Mississippi is gonna be a problem for me. But yeh I am in on this guys, just drop me a line about fees and such and I will proudly "represent" the 6gc club.

The regional divison sounds good, and maybe once a year or every other year to begin with hold a central meet, Like one central location mid US or East coast and West coast central location meets annually. And alter the location say like east coast one year could be atlanta, nexted year, piegon fordge. . . to allow for the younger people who won't be able to travel that far a chance to atleast attend one larger event, although it would complicate things it would always allow for more attendance for people who can't travel large distances because of age, work, and/or school.

I would be up for this also, although I dont like added other toyota's in to it. I am not a total fan of toyota's, I really only like celica's and on top of that like pretty much only 6th gens. I like the idea of an anual middle of the country meet, or bianual. I would be totally up for being a head of a region, I have time for this stuff. I know alot of you dont know me but I have been around here for awhile and I am usually pretty good at stuff like this. I know you said to not go volunteering but I am.

I'm up for it. I definitely wanna do the 6gc gear, and we could do a cafeshops.com deal where you design the tshirts and make a little merchant account and us as members go on there and buy the different merchandise that you put the designs on. It would be good for now until you can actually make your own stuff.

the idea is "Club 6GC" so wed like to keep it 6th gens only. i realize as of right now im ruling myself right out of it. lol but my intension is to get another 6gc coming up here soon. but thats not really the point. dividing it up is something we can do later on, basically we just can designate divisions depending on how many people are from each area, and what kind of distances everyone from those areas can go for meets.

everything is excelent so far guys.

just to compile all our thoughts and possablilties so far we've got:
shirts and apparel from cafeshops.com
SHID can produce DVDs for club videos
big centralized meet (such as Pigeon Forge or vegas)
smaller local meets in different regions
im thinking like 25-30 dollar annual dues
Club 6GC window decals can be made (i have a place thats great with that stuff or anyone else who can do them personally could take ahold of that)
yes, representation at local shows like brian said is GREAT, we could have banners and like displays made up for local shows that would probably be decided regionally.

things to be decided
how regions should be divided
how head of regions are chosen
how the funds are divided
who/how/what should run the club in its entirety

anything i missed?

That seems to cover a lot. Any chance we could get a chat session going soon to try and get a lot of these issues covered fast?

Regions.. Probably 4 or five. Northwest, Southwest, New England, Southeast, and Midwest?

I'd like to say that it's unlikely the Northwest will be a very populated region- but I can't see sticking them into the Southwest due to the fact that all the meets would probably be around the southwest- and if we stuck the northwest in with with the southwest, they'd get screwed over with the meets.

The physical distance to the meets is going to be a big issue. I think rotating the meets between big cities is the best way to do it. Say, meet in Los Vegas, then a meet in LA, then a meet in SD, then a meet in Salt Lake.. or something?

Heads of the region should be simple- people in the region vote during a certain time period (that way there's no.. waiting for that last member to vote). As for the nation head- there might not need to be one. Maybe a "chairman" or something out of the region heads if it doesn't involve much extra work.

Funds divided? Simple. Regional funds go to regional, minus a % that goes to national. Funds are then distributed by a request, permission, paid, reimbursement process.

For instance, if I'm going to be the Southwest 6gc Club representative at a show here in LA and we want the banner out here, but it's stuck in LV. If no one in the club is making the LV-->LA trip, then it needs to be shipped. LV member who has the banner requests permission to ship the banner with club funds (estimating around 7.00)- recieves permission, sends the banner, gets reimbursed. I know the whole requesting permission thing can turn into a pain sometimes, but it shouldn't be so bad with a small organization.

Each region head is also going to have to have a small team- maybe even as small as the head and one other person. If I was a regional head, I wouldn't want to deal with finances at the same time you know?

Uhh, had more, forgot smile.gif

quick reply to your first part. actually i see the north west being very active, they already are, lots of people from oregon and washington. not to mention coomer, nat, and four are all up there along with alot of others.

yea im with ya on all those ideas, the only thing i still am uncertain on is as to the percentage of each going to different regions, should the money be divided equally? or by active members in each group? or by contributions? i feel like equally would be best, but at the same time if the Midwest/Cental division has 40 odd members and does like 6 events per year, and the southwest division has 10 members and only like 2 meets, is it fair they get the same ammount? or should those with bigger member #s get a larger portion? that way you get a proportion back of how much each individual member puts in.

i may run to my bank (which is standard federal, i think they are just about everywhere) at some point in the upcoming week or 2 and talk out some details with my consultant up there, see what the process would be for putting togeather an account for something like this.

Woops, didn't know the northwest was so active smile.gif

I think regionally, they should just keep their own dues. That way, the 40 odd member one has all of those funds to work with, and the 10 odd one has all of those funds to work with- and then they each give a portion to the "national" fund. Of course, it should probably be like tax brackets. The 40 odd one would pay a bigger portion to the national, while the 10 one paid a smaller (or even got subsidized)

Paypal would be a nice way to handle this? Paying dues and stuff.

I do too, it just doesn't make much sense to have the 40 member one having WAY more money than it can spend, and the 10 member one struggling to hold one meet with the money. But then, we might have roughly equal membership around the regions..

I think, if you want this to work, you need to have all celica's involved, the car is not very popular and american sentiment towards celica's, especially 6th gens, is that it is a chick car. I don't think you will ever be able to push manufacturers to carry celica parts, it doesn't make fiscal sense to them

But if you were to make a national organization for call versions of the celica you would have a little better luck, I think.

thanks for the opinion mike. the reality of it is probably true what you said, the regions are too spread and too small to make it really worthwile for a 6gc club... but that doesnt mean it is 100% not feasable, theres ways to work around it.

hehe i love the attitude man, statistically though it still is middle aged women that are the majority owners. but hey, lets see where we go from here... next i think we need to find out about getting an account for the fund, find out what we need as far as a website/webpages, how and where these regional forums are, and where to go from here.

I might be willing to help out with a newsletter if we end up getting this going. I'm down with it, if someone is willing to head the club up.
