Hey guys,
I keep hearing how good this battery is (Optima Yellow Top). Is it really that good of a battery? I plan on putting run subs and amps in my car and will this battery help? Can anyone recommend a good battery for my setup? Peace and thnx |

Optimas' are great batteries. I would suggest a red top but yellow will work too, just more cca's I believe.

I agree the red top is better and here is why. The red is designed for street use the yellow is an off road battery this means that basiclly it is made for large four wheel drive SUVs and trucks that are not daily drivers. With yellow there is so much power coming off the battery it stresses the altinator and may not recharge completely. I have friends that compete in spl and sq competions and they all agree that red tops are the way to go. You can go with a yellow but remember they are more expensive something like $150 but the reds they are $99. Hope this helps

I remember a huge topic about this. It might still be posted, try using the search button and it will take you there. Here is the previous topic : Battery Page
