I was wondering whether I should get another 6th gen. There's a red one nearby for $4,995. It has 89,000 miles and is a ST liftback. My mom said she'd buy my coupe from me for $3000 (I know, I should give it to her for free... but she offered wink.gif ). I've wanted a liftback from since I learned they existed. It would be better for me because then I could get a system for it and install it easier than if I would keep the coupe.

Should I? I would probably end up putting the invader kit on it with no spoiler (spoilerless hatchbacks = SEXY) and put some 17 inch rims on it since it ain't got none right now. I know its still an automatic and its an ST but I'm not really into the racing scene after my friend totalled his Mustang and I think it would be better for show.

$4,995 for a '94 ST liftback. I could probably talk him down to like $3,500.

Start low, but don't low-ball him, if that makes sense. I would hold out for a manual. I love my girlfriend's 5 speed VW Scirocco...and my car is auto, although I still love it.

What makes the hatchback superior to the coupe in stereo? I've had it w/ u hatchies, always making fun of us... UR CELI's are FAT.. they way more than ours, and they wish they could as well as the coupe. All you got are the body kits which dont need to be moulded, and more other parts i cant think of. WHERE IS THE LOVE FOR THE COUPE!!!!!

Seriously though, what makes a hatchback better for stereo? I'll be adding more to more stereo as soon as i get my baby back, prolly gonna ditch the back seats, and do a fiberglass enclosure, gonna power 2 Infinity Perfect 12"s, w/ a Rockford Fosgate Punch 800a2 (400 watts rms X 2) and then the amps and caps for everything all in the trunk, and theres plenty of room so waht makes the hatchback better? I want to hear the love for the coupes mang.

But yea man, look for a manual if you can. GT is even better if u can find it.

thats not too bad, i got my 94-st-hatch for 4k about 8 months ago... check www.kbb.com An i would say if your going to get one, look for a gt man... trust me i would, even if your not into speed... Im sure its a lil bit nicer for that extra umphh... if i didnt need a car that day, i would have waited.. also hatches are a lot better for sound... manly subs... ask any audio guy. Subs sound better from deep longer wave lengths, also a hatch is more open an free to the compartment, wich will alow the wave lengths to carry to your ears with out a lot dieing... trust me, iv had a system in 3 hatches an 2 truncks.. hatches a hella lot better.

Seems like your wasting your money for ease of system installation? I have a coupe and my system is more than loud enuf. When your young all u want is loud so u get noticed. After that its quality. Stick with the coupe, its rarer and its just as easy putting a system in. And you can fold down the seats, so it'll be plenty loud.

A HB might be better for every single note but come on only me and a few other guys mabey on this forum are that into sound.
I paid 4800$ for Mine with 70k and jack of anything else. The Stereo Installation was just about as easy as it could get, and as far as crappy sound, I had 3 Kicker Comps, 2 MTX thunder 4500's and I wasnt at a lose for sound.

I agree w/ Clipsetuner and supersprynt. My coupe is doin fine in the sound dept. And installing the system is nothing...not to mention its only a one time thing. If you had to do it every day or something I could see getting the hatch but not just for a one-time install.

Yeah but I prefer the liftback to the coupe. I dunno, but a spoilerless liftback looks damn sexy, and I really don't like the coupe I have now because everything bad has happened to me in that car. My engine blew, I got sideswiped, two dents from idiots from my school, and finally I got rammed by a chevy pickup. I mean, its as if that car hates me. Oh and I found a blue manual GT liftback up in Tampa for $4,500 with 97,000 miles

So I'm gonna go check it out with my dad tommorow. Manual IS so much better than automatic biggrin.gif

If you wanna pay $2,000 so that you have a hatch instead of a coupe, go ahead but that two grand could probably be used to make ur coupe pretty sick.

Well my mom offered to buy the coupe so I get $3000 out of that and then I get the $500 out of bank account. Besides it IS a GT 5-speed, so its a step up from my ST and I might actually go decently fast now.

Man that GT was a PIECE.

it didn't have 97,000, it had 197,000 miles on it. The turn signals relays were jacked up. And the clutch was slipping and the interior of the car was messed up. Guess I'm gonna have to keep my ST Coupe frown.gif The only other Celica's around here are all STs and the only GT is for like $10,000
