Okay as most of you know I am working day and night to get cash so that I can do the 3S-GTE swap and AWD conversion. But my car is an automatic. I have looked into this and have found out some pretty interesting and expensive things. They will have to drill a hole in the firewall and run a new clutch pedal. Plus just taking out an Automatic tranny will be difficult in itself. Also does anyone know if the mounts for an auto are the same for a manual? And my girlfriend really likes the automatic tranny in the car right now. Obviously as most of you have guessed she doesn't know how to drive a manual. I figure that if I had a celica that was a stick that the swap would be easier. So my question is : Should I get a high mileage 6th gen GT and have it repainted some badass color like that Supra on the fast and the furious and just keep the green car like it is. I mean cuz it already has the turbo kit on it. And I could just keep it for a winter car.

Once again do you think that I should just get a manual celica gt and do the conversion on that?

Thanks for the input.

Edit: Also about the paint. Any color would be fine. I might even paint it the same as my other one.

Matt

I wouldn't imagine that it's incredibly hard to convert from auto to manual, because I can think of about four or five people who have done it off the top of my head. Unless you're loaded and you've got money to burn, I'd just say do the work to convert your car to a manual and do the swap on it, and then teach your girlfriend to drive a stick.
