and wouldnt you really kick your self in the ass, if you swapped in a 3sge, put the basic bolt ons on the car, only to lose to stock srt-4's or WRX's with intake and exhaust, then decide to turbo the 3sge to get more power when you could have started off with a 3sgte?

you're right about that. There is still alot of thinking i have to do about the matter. And again i would like to state that i never ruled out going turbo. i just wanted to see the responses on 3SGE. Thanks for all the responses.

n/a 4 cylinders can run faster than mid to low 14's...... just a simple h22 swap into a civic h/b can run a mid 13....... and there was an n/a b20b integra up the street (sold it) that ran 12's (has videos)..... you can build n/a, just depends on the money you want to spend

but if just 1/4 mile is your goal why? just do something easier & cheaper

ok, an h22 is a bigger engine than a 3sge and a civic hb stripped down weighs, what, 1900lbs?

and i am sure that that integra had a good amount of weight reduction, not to mention that the engine that powered it was far from stock

a celica with a 3sge in it will weigh around 2600lbs, which is why i said if he wants some sort of interior

it costs a lot of money to make an NA 4cylinder push a lot of power. parts for the 3sge are hard to get in the US, let alone performance parts.

to make a 3sge powered celica run 12's would take loads of money and a lot of weight reduction. hell 13's would be hard enough

You can't compare Toyota n/a motors to Honda n/a motors. VTEC makes a VERY VERY big difference in how the cars can be made fast.

what do you mean?

Street-ability... VTEC can make for a streetable sub 12 second drag car... Toyota motors can't. You can build a 12 second car... but it won't drive on the street, meaning the entire powerband is beyond 5-6k rpms... Kinda kills the point of driving a car when you can only do it after revving it beyond 5000 rpms ehh?
