you'll regret it if you dont buy it Doggy....you know that right? <---- the guilt trip method of convincing =)
But you seriously will regret it don't you think? You probably wont have something like this happen to you again...grab that thing while it's still grabable.

im gonna go against the grain here.... id say keep you ST... yeah, the GT4 could kick its ass, and is the pinnacle of the celicas... but your ST is your life man... its like your kid... and you dont just trade in your kid if a better one comes along.... you've put so much into that car man... id say keep it....

I'm completely in agreement with this statement but I think you're overlooking one thing... its a GT-FOUR! I think many of us would sell our souls for this car if only it was available stateside. granted its not the holy grail many of us make it out to be, but its far better platform than a st, no doubt about that.

doggy, I think you need to make an inventory of what you want out of your current car vs the gt-four and work from there. this is a huge decision, even more so because of all the custom work in your current car. but if you're goals exceed what your st can provide, and you can manage to afford the gt-four, I think the choice is clear.

its a hard decision. I would never have gotten rid of my corolla that i was fixing up except for the fact that someone totalled it, stupid drivers. but i love my celica and its a whole lot nicer than the rolla but the rolla was my work and 1st car.

i know its a GT4, duh... and yes, just about everyone would sell their souls for one (i know i would). but doggy has put SOOOOO much into his car... i also know that just about everyone here would sell their soul for doggys car... so you have 2 cars that equal a soul.... so now you just have to look at it as doggys put his soul into that car, but not the gt4....

Hey man... It's not as if he was going to keep the ST for the rest of his life... you have to let things go eventually. 4 months before I got the celica I missed out on my perfect car: 1996 Skyline GTS-4, fully optioned manual... which is mechanically identical to the GTR but with no turbo... for $2k more than I payed for my celica... I am still kicking myself and haven't seen another one advertised since!

Well, i made a desidion.

Well, i dont have money to get it right now, doing this i will have to sell my ST fast, and my car is now not painted, with all the bodykit, and stuff, there are a lot of things done to it that you guys dont know yet, so i spent TOO much TIME and MONEY on it that i could JUST GIVE HER UP and sell it cheap. Maybe this is the chance of my life, but i was planing one day to get the GT4 anyway, but at first i have to COMPLEATE my project, i dont like leaving things unfinished. I dumped 3600$ into my ST during winter, and have a lot of parts laying around in my room, and i dont want to start selling them cheaper then i bought them. So, i guess im back into my old ROAD. Till i finish my ST, and let her to some one else....

I know that i will regret one day, but maybe MAYBE i will be able to find A BETTER deal.... And yes, if i would sell my ST, i would miss her VERY very much, cuz i was building her like my dream, and it will BE LIKE this then i finish her, and the end is not that FAR away...

Thanks guys for the suport, understanding, and good thoughts.....

Romas

Get both. I did. Although my family is pressing me to sell one of the two, i am really trying to sell my father's old lancer just to have a reason to keep my curren and let my father drive it. $6k is nothing. I have put around $30k in my GT4 so far (10k just for custom duties though) Get a loan or something. Or ask your parents for a loan and pay them back later. You could say to them that you will sell your old car as soon its finished but in the meantime get the funds and keep both your cars.

oh wait, u r doing a turbo swap aren't you. Well again, you can finish your old car and then decide what to do. And now you can get for $5,500 wow

Ya, i thought about this, geti aloan, and get both. But.... My parents refused to help me with the loan, cuz they DONT THINK this is nesesary for my life, thay better get me a House instead of new BETTER car WITH more POWER.... The second reason is, that to get a loan here from the bank, you have to fill like a HUNDREDS of papers, and the max that i could get is about 3k$ so it wount help me a lot.... Anyway, i made a choise, adn after i sell my ST i will try to get a GT4 again, a real JDM...... I think this will happen this summer...

1. $5,500 is not really a noticeable amount when you want to buy a house.
2. More power??? you are kidding right?
3. Do they realise that you may sell your old car for twice as much and get a good profit (which could be used for getting a house maybe)
4. GT4 is much safer (AWD) than your current project (also has reinforced chassis)
5. GT4 could be more economical as you will save much more on mods and it will probably be much more reliable than your swap.

and on, and on....

I am an accountant but because i dont know the conditions in your country i cant help. if you were here in my country i would set you up in a second. Hell i would buy it for you and let you pay me off when you had the money. What about some friends. Can you get a loan from 4-5 friends for $1000 each or something?

Man, its so frastrating to be broke. Thats why i am always saving money and try not to write cheques my cannot cash. Otherwise i would be like most Cypriots that borrow $50k plus to get bmws and then kill themselves trying to pay the loans.

I would say to finish the ST. A GT-Four isnt the end-all vehicle, we all know that....stick with the ST Celica to carry out your dream of how you would like your car to look, and im sure you'll be satisfied with your decision.

EDIT- If you feel that a GT-Four would better suit your goals, however...go for that instead. You dont want to waste money that would be better spent on the right car for you. I guess it really comes down to which you would rather do.
