one, it isn't exactly a good idea to be doing that at stop lights, and also, driving around with a lower pressure all the time. that's why i said playing around and stuff. Two, he's already getting wheel hop under 2000. So i would say 2500 or 3000 again with the lowered pressure in the tires.

keep the pressure right in normal street tires. lowering the pressure will not help you launch. You will actually be riding on LESS tire thread if the pressure is too low (the outsides of the tire). Now if you have drag slicks its a different story.

i doubt it has anything to do with his acceleration. dude, its probably time to upgrade your struts/springs. your car is 10 years old. sounds like most likely your struts are blown.

Actually you should set your tire pressures fairly high. It won't really affect launches that much (more tire pressure = less contact patch) so you might get a bit more wheelspin, but having a hire pressure tire means you will get less flex in the tire-wall and therefore better handling.
Also with more tire grip the car will be more likely to hop, as it is more difficult to get the tires spinning. This usually happens if you give enough power to get the wheels spinning, but not enough to keep them there.. so the car jumps between the wheels spinning and having traction. If you drop the clutch at say 3,500 rpms and spin the wheels, when you notice the wheelspin slowing, lift off the power a bit, then floor it once you have traction. If you just hold the pedal as the rpm drop down, the car will prolly hop. This post has been edited by KAMiX: May 31, 2004 - 5:14 AM |

150? it says you don't have any performance upgrades, shut up dude. And are you serious about that speed limit stuff. I bet you red 94 gt laughed just as much as i did -------------------- ![]() The most important lesson I learned from Karate-Dō Kyōshan – “You can not be what you do not believe you are” |
