it's an okay "how-to," but most people would need a bit more information. It's pretty basic, but better than nothing smile.gif. Ed.

Oil into what? If you talking about into the strut housing, you dispose of the oil in it and don't put any back into the housing.

yes that was my question

at one point i was told that you need to put oil in the fronts where they just send you a replacement cartridge versus the whole strut.

I would imagine you would have to put new oil in or how would it work?

Do you have to buy the strut boot or shock & strut mount or does that stuff come with them?

You purchase those separately. Boots are $12 each and RR Mounts are $37 each at tirerack. They don't sell the front mounts.

The KYB boots have the bump stop assembled inside the boot already.

yes, you do have to refill the chamber with oil. most people use ATF fluid. if you don't refill, the strut will knock when you drive over any bump. most inserts take 30cc's of fluid, which is the same as 6 tsp. (1tsp.=5cc's). something like that. check the directions, and then convert the cc's. and i do suggest you change the strut mount also.
