Well, I'm sad (& somewhat happy) to say that I have sold the celica and made a new purchase...
With Emily, my little one, it was just getting too much, I needed 4 dorrs and a bit more room. The wife has the last series of the previous model corrolla which shares a fgew things in common with the celi so I'll still be dropping in occasionally to see what's doing. For those of you from Oz (only a handfull last time I checked) I bought a new SS Commodore, white and spent a few bucks and intake and exhaust, purchased the HSV drop kit which puts it on Clubsport Specs (only $300 when you do it at time of purchase). For those of you who wouldn't be familiar with the car, its an Australian 4 door sedan which is what the New 2 dr Pontiac GTO is based on, it has a much more angular and better looking IMHO front and rear end and the interior is somewhat more sophisticated. Power wise it has a 245kw (about 180rwkw I think) 5.7L Chev V8 LS1 GENIII, same as what's been used in the Corvette's for the last little while, with less than $1000 spent it is comfortably putting out 270kw, just by pulling back intake and exhaust restrictions. I'll post some pics later, anyway have to go rest my kidney's cos they are a bit sore from being constantly kicked by 550nm of torque... The point is, I now can take the princess anywhere with ease, I can still drive around like a lunatic when she's with Mum, and I still love driving this beast as much (dare I say it maybe even more than) the Celica. Good driving to you all, and many thanks for all the help over the past couple of years. Finally Coomer, well done, you have really set the standard for others out there on what this kind of site should offer its users, I'm struggling to find a site fro my new beast that offers as much useful info as yours... Regards, YEL094 A.K.A. Paul |
