This has been a battle for years now, me vs. the plastic panels in the celica. Everyone knows what i'm talking about.

After installing a great sound system, the excursion from the woofer on my separates is making the door rattle. I figured it was the door panel, so I tried some stuff in between the panel and the door. It sounded like it worked for a second, but sure enough the crappy noise began again...tried X amount of things, and again...and again... and again. I just lived with it... but I can't stand it anymore.

I finally got some free time and took off the door panel completely and LEFT it off. That's when I realized that there is some plastic sheet protecting the mechanical stuff inside the door, and it appears that it is what is making the terrible noise (that along with the door handle, which makes an even WORSE noise on the outside of the car). Every time the little sub flexes, it causes the plastic to shake, making a distorted "shaking trash bag" kind of noise.

1) Is this plastic there to protect the panels from moisture? If taken off, would I need to replace it later?
2)How many bolts do I have to unscrew (and where are they) to get to the door handle?

So amidst all of the cheap **** that these people have crammed into our cars, frustration begins to set in. I ask the 6gc community for a solution. Eventually I am going to fiberglass new door panels because I'm pissed off at how cheaply made ours are. Maybe it's just the 94 or something?

Thanks for reading
