Does anyone know where the plug is on the inside of the car that you can plug a computer into and it tells you everything going on with the car?
I thought there was a connector under the steering wheel and i looked and there was not one there????
Do we even have one of those plugs on the 6g celica?
I remember having one on my other car but it was not a toyota.
If anyone knows sent me an email please on its location!
thanks,
dg

Even if we did, u have a swap, it wouldnt work.

They hook it up to the diagnostics box in the engine bay, thats what the ECU is connected too.

should be right above your gas pedal, but i doubt it will work on a swap celica.

its not on all celicas tho, my 98 has it, but some early 6th gens dont. in fact i think its only on cars 97 and up.

yeah, I was wondering if it would work on a swap. THe OBDII info listed here is correct. I actually use the OBDII plug above the gas pedal to connect to my laptop and do cool things like DECENT, ACCURATE 0-60 and quater mile times. It's tight stuff.

But, doesn't the OBDII just get it's info from the ECU? and since the swap stuff is still connected to the ECU.. I might not be right tho

If i wired all the wires up right then the diagnostics would still work if i had a swap or not but my thing is i cant find the connector if there is even one one the car!
there should be only one connector not two???? where exactly are these 2 plugs you are talking about macaveli? i never noticed em.....
i got nothing above the gas pedal.
remember i got the 95 gt which is obd1 but older cars have this connector so i figured the celi might have it too.
thanks,
dg

OBDI is a lot older format- less computer friendly- I dont believe they even make easy conputer hookups for it.. the general consensus is that if you have OBDI, you're screwed

i always thought that the diagnosis boxes only work on 96+ cars. if your motor is from a 90 alltrac, then you have to jump the diagnosis box and count how many times your check engine light flashes.
