aight well my car has been on the road for 10 years and i think it deserves a paint job ,,,,i just got quoted to paint my entire car and fix a dent on the side and fix the many meteor shaped crevases on my roof.. the price came out to 1200....also since i know this guy who can hhook me up wiht paint i can get it for about 170 including clear coat so tahst around 1370 in total...is this s good deal? i was thinkin of paintin my car Metalic blue or the sti blue

1370 for a repaint is great deal. However, is this a maaco job? If you wanna completely change the color doing door jambs, under hood, trunk and what not, 1370 is a ridiculously low price.
I am getting a custom blue and was quoted at around 4500. -------------------- |

damnnnnnnnnnnnn 4500 nah man im doing this at this body shop i know co owner and he told the other owner to give me a good price he was charging like 1600 at first till he had a lil word with him...im a ask him if i pay him in cash if he might lower it even more...also i got a friend who can get discounts on paint so thast y itll will be cheap....yea i was thinkin maaco but nah i heard too much ****t about it |

aight well i taked to the guy again cause i was thinkin "y not pay him in cash and maybe he will reduce the price" well instead of payin 1200 for the labor, i am gettin it done for 850 wihtout fixing the dents in teh roof (they told me the roof will take major work and time so he cant reduce that price) so in total with the disount on the paint and no roof repair new paint on car skline bayside blue and fixing the trunk and a dew dents.... about $1000

You really should repair the roof if you're going to paint the car. Nice fresh paint with a badly damaged roof would just look really bad I'd think. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

trust me man, get EVERYTHING fixed before you paint it...you'll kick yourself when its done if you dont.
i was also quoted about 4000 if i wanted to change color..so if you can get it done for 13or1400 thats a SWEET deal

damn man these are outrageous quotes LOL 4g damn...yea im a see cause it seemed like that guy didnt want to repari the roof cause he would have to cut it off and to do that u gots to hire someone to take out the windshiled its a complicated process. i was thinkin if i just paint it and then later when i have done my swap do the roof |

I'd say do it all now. It'll be a lot cheaper because you won't have to get a large portion of the car repainted again, and your won't look odd because it has nice new paint with a messed up roof. Also, even if the roof doesn't look too bad now, that's with white paint. With blue paint, a lot more imperfections will show up. Just some stuff to think about...it's your car though.

yea man i was thinkin the same thing...blue shows more im a have to think cause wut this other guy told me is that i would have to buy a new roof and mold in on,,cause its too hard to get out all the bumps.. hey coomer could i still do my roof later? like say i go with the 850 and then later liike during my swap when i have enough money could i redue the roof and paint it? im planning to do the swap this spring |

Yeah, you always could re-do the roof at a later date, but it just seems like it makes so much more sense to do it now.

yea i know im a ask him again....i mean **** i want everything done u know...its just hes not budging on the roof..basically to do everything he wants 1200 and then i have to pay for paint=about 200 = 1400 or i could do evrything else and forget the roof and itll be 850 +200 for paint = 1050 so im saving around $350 which i was gonna use to to go to miami this summer...plus im tryin to save up for me 3sgte swap.. thast my main goal..but like its gonna be like 4K cause i have an Auto ST lol the worst combinations to have lol...im a bout to start doing reeal estte in july so hopefully wiht that ill be making some seriosu cash and my probelmes will go away... |
