i was test drivin a 97 celica (limited edition i think) wit my dad tha other day and u guys kno tha little storage box thing between tha chairs? well my dad doesnt like it because he said that gets in tha way wen u shift. My cousin has a 6th gen too but his doesnt get in tha way. Do u guys know if it changes with years and which years does it not get in tha way? hopefully yall understand what im sayin. thanks

if u r talking about the arm rest on top of the storage unit in the center console, then nO, it doesn't change.

its a padding you can remove... if its a limited it will have the padding you can just pop it off.
