How about adding a topic title for clubs and meets, or something like that, into the list of forums? That way they would'nt be all randomly under general discussion and people would be able to easily see whats going on with their area.

That's a good idea. What do you guys think should be attached to these titles? I was thinking "Regional: " smile.gif

we're not gonan have enough meets to justify splitting it up via regions..

just one "Meets and get togethers!" forum; and then have forum rules, like prefixing Socal meets with: SOCAL: northwest meets with: NW:

etc etc

I think Shid is right, there won't be enough to split it up. I like the idea of using something in front, similar to the buy/sell forum.

Yeah, what would you guys suggest having in front of the topic titles? I know that NW: and SOCAL: and stuff would be nice, but I don't think anyone will remember to put those in their posts. I'm thinking that one prefix would be best, as the region can often be determined by the full title anyway. wink.gif

Coomer.. I know this might be hard, and require a lot of work.. but perhaps when making a new topic, a user can be forced to choose between a list of radio buttons before the topic is posted?

IE: "Create New Topic"
Computer: To what region does this pertain?
(radio buttons)
1) Northeast
2) Southeast
3) midwest
4) Southwest
5) Pacific South
6) pacific north

they choose one, and then they type up their posts

the computer, when posting their posts, puts the NW: PS: PN: MW: SW etc etc before the topic title

or just lock threads that don't comply lol

I'm pretty sure that I could find a way to do that, but I'd at least wait until I upgrade these boards to Invision Board 2.0.

My main concern though, is that I'll spend a lot of time writing something like that up, and no-one will use it, despite their initial enthusiasm, like the "Add Your Part Info" section. frown.gif

I think people may not pick up on the regions as easy as they would if you just put the state abbreviation. Maybe just with a drop down list instead of radio buttons though because they're would be so many options.

Also, I just saw the parts database and added some comments. Not alot of mods to add, but I did what I could.
