ok we all know that jdm engines are illegal techically in the us because it doesn't have the egr valve or what ever it is called(the valve that recirculates part of the exhaust). I was wondering where that is located on the US engines. if it was on the head i didn't know if it was possible to cross a 3sgte block and a 5sfe head. just a thought.

You would have to bore the 3s block to 2.2 liters to fit the 5s head. But technically it should work. There are easy ways to get around the emissions testing even without the EGR. But if you were hellbent on it you could always put on a USDM intake and exhaust manifold to get the EGR look. You can pass the sniffer without making them work, however, so there isn't really a point it making it functional...it just takes away power.
