Im looking to amp two subs that have a RMS power rating of 30-100w. I Figured that i should get a two channel amp and i want each channel to pump out 100w.

Ive looked around for amps but havent found n e that im tottaly sure about. I know Digital (class d) amps are expensive and i would like to keep my as low as a possible but not so much i would be sacraficing sound quality.

What impedance are your subs and what kind of voice coil setup do they have?

i'm pretty sure he's running 4 ohm single voice coil kicker comps. 30-100 rms and 200w max.

Well if you're running that setup, then a good class D amp would probably be a good choice, unless you want them wired in stereo, in which case you could use a class A/B amp, although most class A/B amps are most efficient when driving two two ohm loads. With a class D amp, you could wire the subs in parallel to achieve a two ohm load, which is where lots of class D amps produce their maximum power. I'd personally suggest a JBL BP150.1. It's a good amp that's under-rated at 150 watts RMS @ 2 ohms. smile.gif

dorcay is corrrect.

coomer about that jbl amp. when you say under rated at 150 what do you mean under rated? the subs have an RMS of 100 tops. Would this present a problem?

(i notice you two guy seem to be answer my question with quite presision and i thank you for that and ur time thanks a bunch you guys smile.gif )

Hey another question

Im not a pro on car audio as you can tell. So if im running two subs would i want a two channel amp or a mono. If i get a two chan that would mean that each sub would run independently from eachother off of the amp and if i get a mono they would work on the same line.

if i get a mono would i have to hook it up in parrelle or in series? how would i run it if i was to get two chan. O and parrallel and an series hook up is the same as with batteries rite?

lol is there a thread i missed in my search that has pix/diagram of how to wire a sub and amp in. My friends say that can do it for me no problem but i like to know whats going on lol.

thanks
