Anyone gone down the road of ECU/ ECM remapping,
whether it be a complete replacement or piggy backing a chip on your existing ECU. And how about the higher pressure fuel regulator(FSE Power Boost Valve) thats out there too. Are these worthwhile for the hole left in your pocket? , ..Jon |

I am having Jet remap my chip in about a month. My friend remapped his 98 tiburon that had just intake, exhaust and ignition work at the time and he noticed a big difference when he got it back... alot more lower end torque. His shift points where alot higher also. He was happy with it.. part of the reason I am sending mine out. Once I get my car back together I will be able to tell you what kind of gains I noticed but that will be early spring at best.

Thanks for your input, I heard gains of up to 30BHP were possible on forced induction cars (not worth the expense I think on a non aspirated car, only 8 - 10bhp gains). The Gt4 I still think lacks low end torque, you pretty much have to floor it in the 2500 to 3000rpm band before the turbo lag is overcome but once your there it moves. If your getting good feedback from the ECU remap then I may go ahead and do it in the new year. Oh yeah, any opinions on the FSE Boost valve, the reviews tend to be undecided, Thanx, Jon |
