Removal tools, keys, whatever you want to call them. I got all of my audio stuff installed at Good Guys back in February, and now that I need to install my music keg, I need to slide the deck out to plug it into the back...but I don't have my removal tools, and I don't remember ever seeing them after the installation.

Is there another way to get the deck out without those special tools? Or should I harass the shop and see if they still have them...they must have some for every type of deck, because they need them to remove people's decks don't they?

The manual says don't use any tools other than the ones given, but if I don't have them, am I screwed? Any help is appreciated...

hey i work at good guys....trust me they dont have your stuff the installers throw everything away. um as for the deck use a small screwdriver to bend the little security tabs then it'll just slide right out.

I didn't think they still had it, but just that they threw it away instead of giving it back to me. What I meant was that they probably have their own either universal one or one for each type of deck for when they need to get the decks out to install stuff.

no....thats if the deck is in a cage, the deck is ISO mounted(or should be). you most prob have to take the dash apart

there is no place for a"cage" for the deck to slide into. you must take the trim off to unscrew the brackets from the dash.

No body seems to remember that there are HowTo's on the site. Nothing against you personally but just in general most of these types of posts lately could have been answered in the how to section. Too bad it'd be a pain to include them in the forums search function.

Any ways check this out...
