no complete kit to turbo the 7AFE. well actually thats not completely true, there is a TOM'S kit available in Japan, but its really not worth the money. just buy the individual components at this place:

The 5sfe is not an ideal engine for any kind of forced induction... The compression ratiio is why to high to maintain any level of boost above 0.7 bar.... That and all of the kits I have seen for the 5sfe are above $2000... add that to all of the other parts you will need to make a turbo work on a 5sfe and see any kind of boost above 8lbs is going to cost you around $4000...
Buy a 3sgte motor and do the swap... WAY better results for the price. -------------------- ![]() 99 project version 3.0.. hello SEMA 2010 =) |

Hey man, I hate to bust on you, but is that really a good suggestion? You are saying the guy should swap in a 5SFE and then turbo it? Not only is that completely pointless and a waste of money, but as Neverstop just said in his post, turbo'ing a 5S is generally a bad idea. If anything the 7A is more suited to boost than a 5S. In fact, Toyota even offered a limited run of 7AFTE powered Corollas in Australia. |

No I wasent suggesting that I was saying if he could get a 5sfe engine for cheap he could drop it in and you could turbo it for around 900 cheap wise and run around 200-210 hp, in other words no full boost. Cause I know some peeps had soem 5sfe for cheap. But by that tiem he would have almost the same amount of money you would have in a 3sgte swap. So Im jsut saying its the other alternative!

the 5sfe with turbo is an alternate but you would need more than a turbo kit to reach 200-210hp... the motore is about 135hp new... say you get an older one.. out of 94 cuz its cheap.. your looking at just above 110hp as a base level because of wear and tear. then you put on a turbo... with how the 5afe is set up stock your looking at best +30hp... thats what... 140 give or take. the 3sgte does almost double this stock and some editions do more than double. The 5sfe would be a way to do it on a budget if you could find a really cheap turbo and do alot of custom fabrication... you could maybe do the whole thing for $2000 but you would have to know some people.
