i need new all season tires, mine are all worn down to the point where i am afraid to go out in the rain, and now that the snow is coming, and i severely bent my steel rim on a curb due to lack of traction, i am getting serious about it
i can get Cooper factory matched tires mounted and balanced for just under $300 and have it done now. they give about 50000 miles and are fairly capable. i can get Yokohama Avus touring tires shipped in 3-5 days for $227 and mounted and balanced for $60. they give about 80000 miles and are pretty good in all conditions. i am riding on a compact spare so i need it done fairly quickly, but i am out of town this weekend so it is not a huge deal. i have to give this car to my sister in 1-1/2 years, so longevity isn't a big issue, but i do want something that performs well in all situations. so my question is, Should i go with worse tires to have it done more quickly or should i go with the better choice in the long run? EDIT: i pretty much answered my own question, i'll go with the Yokohamas, but i still want your feedback This post has been edited by pistatio56: Oct 13, 2004 - 11:13 PM -------------------- my signature is the coolest.
