I wanted to check the tranny fluid on my car. I have never checked it. I need to know where the nipple is located to have the tranny filled properly. Does anyone have exact details on its location or if you could provide a pic, it would be great. Thank You.

manual tranny? If so, its on the bottom side of the tranny, closer to the drivers side. You'll have to remove the plastic lining to get to it. Its he a big red hex bolt. Shallow head. I can't remember the size.

Lol, Thanks for the info. I'll be sure to unbolt the top one. But i might as well change it for some fresh tranny fluid.

I highly recomend doing so if you bought your car used. The lady who owned my car before I must have neglected to do so for ages because it was like sludge when I had it flushed after I bought it

Ok so let me clarify some things because I, too,) would like to check my tranny fluid (5spd GT)
1.) Where exactly do you access the fill point to check the level? 2.) Is the drain point a red bolt like the one described above? -------------------- 3rd gen ST205 3SGTE - Alive and boosting. |

You cant check the level. All you can do is fill her up until it over flows a bit. Thats what I heard. Correct me if im wrong someone. |

On a manaul tranny you fill till it comes out the hole on the side, when the car is sitting level. If the car is on a jack, over fill the tranny a bit. Take it off the jack, park on level ground. Pop the hood and open the bold on the front side of the tranny, and let it drain out, when it stops comming out put the boldt back in, and you are good to go.
