Yea some dood on celica.net made a kit that replaces all your dash LEDs and even your light on your window switch. I'll find out who it was and post another message with the link. (if someone doesn't beat me to it)

i'm the guy offering the kits. it requires LEDs that aren't available for sale commercially. i had to get them from a distributor, and they are made to order. the window switch is easier, but it's still a huge pain. i broke 3 AC control boxes just trying to figure out how to get to the LEDs.

i'm going to offer the kit by itself, or the kit installed by me. if you aren't confident handling circuitry, i'd recommend having me do it. it's a lot of delicate soldering, and it's easy to break stuff if you don't know what you are doing. it's not like you're switching bulbs. it's like cracking open your microwave controls to change the color of the clock.

anyway, STANDARD sized/shaped LEDs will NOT work. i'm waiting on my first batch of red and blue LEDs from the company, i'll be sure to post pics when i have the prototype. my advice would be not to mess with this, if you break something, you have to buy a whole new box, which is like 500 bucks. just wait for my kit. it's coming as fast as it can.

btw, i've been working on this for well over a year, but if you want to try, go for it smile.gif

i will be sure to tell you all as soon as it's ready. i'm hoping for a less than a week turnaround time.

i can post instructions, but you won't be able to get the LEDs, so I don't know what the point is. normal ones DO NOT fit. i'm serious. you have to get the same kind that are in the box. trust me, i've looked EVERYwhere to find these, and the only way i'm able to get them is by buying 500 (smalles qty. you can purchase) and normally they don't sell that few, i've been bugging them for about six months.

Once I get my Celica, I'll definitely be looking into getting you to do this for me, Charlie. VA is only a skip away. I live in southern VA too, so maybe a 3 hour drive.

if you've done that, you'll be fine. i will have a whole mailing system set up. i might get the LEDs today! which would be totally sweet.
